Electric Fan Question

Just wanted to know what the purpose was of the A/C relay, and if I install a electric fan without it, would it hurt anything. I just wanted to install a fan with a Adj. Temp Sensor and nothing else. Just have the temp sensor turn on/off the fan. Simple right?

the a/c relay turns the elec fan on when your a/c is engaged. you are correct that you can use it without the a/c switch, but when you are sitting in traffic with the a/c on, your fan won't necessarily be on (it will once temp comes up). Therefore, your a/c won't blow cold until your engine comes up to temp and the fan kicks in. (a/c radiator needs airflow to really blow cold)

btw, have you come to a conclusion on your carbon fiber roll pan? You were neutral before...

if its the jdm unit, i think i had to hook it up or it did not work at all. i did leave out the manual toggle switch. my fan sure does cycle alot, even when its 40 degrees outside.
