Help Quick, What should I pay?

Well, the fiancé talked me out of getting a 2002 HD with the superchager, so I will have to settle for the 2001 (still not a bad settle though). Around what price should I expect to pay for a HD supercrew? Say with around 20K miles.....

Go to www.kbb.com and get the Used Car Retail and Wholesale price for it. This will give you negotiating power and let you know if they are trying to rip you off.

I agree with crockett59, though, don't just buy the first one you see. Hold out for an 02 with a supercharger if you can. You will be glad you did.

If you can wait a few months, close to the next model year -- September or so, you will see anohter model year's price fade away on that 02...

Hold out for the supercharger and you'll be glad you did.

Get the 02. The resale alone will kept the value higher.

That is unless you find a cheap 01. Under 25,000( I wouldn't pay that). But most seem to think theres are worth 28,000 and up.

The difference is more than just a blower, its the grin you have on your face when you power past a bimmer, or pull a vette out of the hole and the proceed to stay in front till 110+ mph.

Just get a good deal. I think the market for 01 will drop very soon as more 02's hit the resale market.

Kinda like Viper GTS, a year couldn't find a used one for less 50k.

Now I have seen them for 39K.

Thanks for the input guys and I do agree with you 100% that I should get the 2002. Unfortunatly it is not entirley up to me! I found a 2001 here in Baton Rouge for 24,998, so Im sure I could get them down a bit. I could always drive this one for a year or so, then trade up....

When I got my 2001 Screw XLT in May of 2000, a few weeks later the 2001 HD came out. I wanted it so bad, but with no real power upgrade it did not justify trading.

I am so glad I waited and got my 02 HD. That supercharger is part of the greater image of the Harley-Davidson f-150s.

I too had a 2001 Screw 4X4, the 01 HD's weren't out yet. I wanted one really bad, I said to eveyone that I would buy one IF it had a supercharger. Then 2002.......They came out with a supercharger.......I had to have one......So I bought it.

I'm glad that I waited........

When the 02 came out with the supercharger, the value of 01’s really took a hit. You should be able to buy a low mileage 01 in the low 20’s.

Right now even 02’s are bring $27-$29 wholesale, and 01’s are bringing $21-$23.

The money spent to get a 02 is going to come back to you down the road.

You might want to show her this thread. Even those that have the 01 are telling you to get the 02....HUGE difference!

Well, thanks for all of your advice. I did buy a 2001 HD Supercrew. I would say unfortunately, but I really don’t see anything unfortunate about owning this vehicle. I absolutely LOVE it (even without the s/c). I will post some pics as soon as I get some. I am getting 2” shackles put on this week. Another proud HD owner!
