Removing badges

I want to remove the f150 on my tailgate and replace it with my Harley f150 symbol.
1) What is the best way to remove it without messing up the paint?
2) What is the best way to place the new badge on so it stay on?
Thanks I want to do it around four, so a quick answer would help.

Mask off the area around the emblem ( heavily !!! ).

Use fishing wire or a small pick set ( that's what I use ) and GENTLY remove the old emblem. 3M adhesive remover is good for getting rid of any old tape/residue without harming the paint.

3M double sided body molding tape rules !!! Use that to put on the new emblem. It's dark gray in color, almost black, and it's available at better body shop supply stores.

Thanks SVTRob. That is what I planned on doing. Getting some fishing line and working it inbetween the truck and badge. Masking it off is a real good idea though, didn't think of that. Hopefully I will be able to do it tonight.

definately a good mod! :thumbsup;

not sure why they felt the need to go so cheap and only give us 00 guys the fender HD emblems.

anyway, if you order a new emblem, it should come with the double sided emblem tape already on the back of it,, all you have to do is peel the plastic off and stick it on once you get everything else cleaned up.

goodluck!
