Question Paging clonetek: Helwig 7621

When you installed the rear sway bar, did you have to move anything on the rear end? Like brake line, cable or brackets?

Did the kit come complete?

Thanks!

I called Helwig and they told me part # HEL-7621 is for the F-150s with 2" drop shackles.

The one on Summit lists it with the part #, but on the JcWhitney they do not list it as such.

I'll be getting mine locally, and I will still pay $20-25 less from either Summit or JcWhitney shipped.

I'm getting mine from 4 Wheel Parts, a local store. They're just a few minutes away from me and on the way home so I could pick the sway bar from them.

They're nationwide, look in the yellow pages and give them call. They do not have it listed in their website at http://www.4wheelparts.com but they are an authorized distributor for Helwig.

It's a bolt on, I did not have to raise the truck when we did my friends F-150 XL reg cab.

Hey clonetek,

Which end links did you use for the HD with 2" shackles. My HEL-7621 comes with 2 sets of end links, long and short?

Which one?

Did you have to drill an extra hole on the frame?

TIA!

Chesterc, I have installed these before. You will use the short links with this kit. Hellwig packages several lenth links in this kit, so that it can be used on several applications. You should not have to drill any holes. The gas tank side is a pain in the neck, but it will work. The bar goes on top of the rear end and the u-bolt/clamp will kind of point up on a 45 degree angle towards the gas tank. Good luck.

Thanks richo!
You're right, mine came with different end links. And just by looking at them the longest was obviously not for my application. Then I had 2 more sets of end links which were shorter.

But shouldn't the D bushing and the U bolts parallel to the ground? Am I missing something?

thanks so much for all your help!

edit: based on those pics, it's the shortest end links on the kit
