Exclamation I took motor apart and it has n/a rods in it!

Just joking !

Come on guys relax so far most if not all of the blown motors are from detenation.

For those of you who dont know why its is bad to have this in a blown motor let make it simple for you.

A tuned engine fires at damn near top dead center. Perfect to push the piston and rod down to make power.

When you have detenation its firing on the way up to top dead center and then Bammmm the rod snaps because of the crank still heading up and the detenation + x amount of boost pushing down.

To make it simple Keep'em tuned.

Yelp Bill Ford just called me, he said that he plans to recall all of the HD's even the n/a ones.

And he confirmed the sky is indeed falling.

Do you have a clue how hard it has been to explain to L owners how detenation can lead to rods breaking? SOme just cant understand what you just said....

Now that you mention it......What does the focus have in it? The cobra has it's own engine.....The L has it's own......

Ouch. I hope the HD's really do have L Motors... otherwise... there will be a ton of unhappy HD owners!

Like I posted in the other thread regarding this subject, I don't understand the fuss.

If I wanted an L engine and ***** out performance I would have bought a Lightning. I bought the HD for the coolness factor, the extra seats, and the additional performance provided by the supercharged engine Ford added in 02.

I read on the other site that a HD F150 owner wrote to the director (president or whatever) of the SVT Owners ***. and asked if the HD F150 is a SVT. The reply was a definate "yes, of course it is". He then went to the dealership asked for an SVT Owners Assoc. application, filled it out and sent it in. He then received the SVT owners package.

I don't plan on doing heavy mods to my 02 in the motor. However, I will be upset if we find out that this is an inferior motor to the L. I was told at the dealership that "it's the same motor as the Lightening....just detuned". I asked why it's detuned and was told an answer that I bought at the time. I was told that the dealerships that sale the L's have to pay a franchise premium.....that as soon as they found out that the HD's have the same motor that they squawked about having to pay the premium....so Ford had to detune them.

It shouldn't be to much longer and all this will come out in the wash.
