Silver Logo Bed Mat
that looks awsome!!! SPILL THE BEANS DUDE!!! how did you do it?how dare you post that in a thread and don't post what you used and how you did it, AND post a super tiny pic

must have more info and fullsize pics!!!
JCZ,
Yeah, it's durable! ... and flexible! ... it's silver rubber!
The process:
1. Clean the logo part of the bed mat real good with isopropyl alcohol (make sure you have lots of rags!). This leaves the rubber "white-ish/streaky" but is OK for now.
2. Cover the entire logo with 2" or 3" blue painter's masking tape. Take an Exacto blade (or equivalent) and carefully run it around the edges of the raised part (H-D bar and shield/motorcycles lettering) of the logo and remove the tape from the lowered (embossed) part of the logo itself. This step takes the most time (took me about an hour).
3. I used silver colored "Dip-It" brand acrylic rubber (this is the stuff you can dip your plier handles, screwdrivers, etc into to provide grips and/or to insulate) and just "painted" in on the exposed rubber for the logo. This stuff comes in many colors and "flows" out to a VERY smooth/shiny finish within 3-5 minutes of application. I bought it at Tool Town (local tool dealer) for $4.98 for an 8 oz. can. It took about 1 and 1/3 cans for the logo.
4. Let the "Dip-It" cure up for about two hours, strip the remaining masking tape and ... WAH-LAH!! ... a very cool and professional rubberized logo!
5. Remove any "white-ish/streaky" logo edges with a quick spray and wipe using silicon lubricant spray (this is what auto detailers use to spray on your engine after steamcleaning to make it look "factory fresh"). I like to use this instead of ArmorAll because it drys (doesn't maintain that filmy/oily surface like ArmorAll) and does not get "spotty" like ArmorAll after getting wet and then drying.
I think it's a GREAT (and inexpensive) mod that "fits and finishes" with the rest of the truck ... especially if you have the silver logo floor mats!

Looks great!
Since I kept my H-D mat for my new L' I may just have to do this as well. Also have the silver logo mats and rear runner over the hump. This touch would make a nice matching set.

that looks great! more closeups would be appreciated, like not even of the whole logo. just like a close closeup of the corner or something, just to get a better idea. it sounds like a really cool mod!
thanks for the pics and how-to! awsome mod idea

Drove all over this morning looking for "Dip It". Found a simular prduct called plasti dip but they only had it in Red and Black. Having a DSG, I'd like to use the silver that you used.
Is there a phone number or web site address on your product?

JCZ,
Plasti-Dip is another brand ... but I got to believe is the same type stuff. I saw the "Dip-It" stuff in orange, red, blue, black, green, silver, gold, etc, etc! The "garbage man" came on Friday but I will stop at the store I got it at and see if I can get some additional info for you.
