Question Programing a new key

I just bought a new key with the Harley logo, cause I had plain black ones. Anyways I was told I would have to get the security chip programed. Is this something I can do myself or do I need to bring it to the dealership?

if you have the 2 original keys, you can do it yourself. it's all documented in your manual.

Granted its in the manual but ill describe it easier.....

Put in OEM key 1 from off start truck for no more than 5 seconds and turn back to off remove

Put in OEM key 2 from off start truck for no more than 5 seconds and turn back to off remove

Put in NEW KEY TO BE PROGRAMMED and from off...go to start and it should now be programmed and will start the truck.

If it doesnt.....repeat process. You must be quick when switching.....less than 10 seconds I believe.

Hope that helps.
