Question What 60ft do you blown HD's get ?

My best this last weekend was 1.92 and I think that to get any better I will need a gear change or a better tire out back.

Thanks.

I think that is about as good as it gets. I think cobrasvt ran a 1.89 on his stock goodyears but that is as good as I have heard. I ran a 1.92 last time I was out and feel like there might be a little left due to driving, traction, weather, etc.

1.70's sounds good. Could you please tell me the size and type of rim you used. I would like 1.70's,yes I would.

Ken I think cobra said he got a 1.79 60ft on his best run I would have loved to be at the track that day.
With a 1.79 I would be VERY close to his best. And maybe with a flip chip and on the race side hmmmm.

And I have no headers and stock cats.

I begining to think about a 11sec run.

I think I misunderstood. For some reason, I thought you meant on stock tires... I think his best on the GTs was 1.89 but I could be wrong, for sure. The best I know of other than that are you and I at 1.92...

My bogart rims and hoosier slicks STILL have not arrived.... As soon as I get those, I'll let you know what I can accomplish. I am hoping to break into the 1.7xx but I suspect 1.8xx is about as good as I am going to get with my lil' ol' 6lber.

I just can't bring myself to run an 8. I contemplated going back to a 4 or 5 and putting a 55 shot on there...

I stand corrected.

He went a 1.76 on street tires.

And he claims no stall. Maybe its the 4.10's ?

My 1.92 was with pretty darn good traction. Almost no slippage whatsoever on launch. All I do is get the RPMs up to about 1K and hammer it out of the hole. Any higher than that and I roast em.

I have not been to my local track when the weather was cool and very dry. It has always been humid which hurts traction. Did he tell you what air pressure he is running his goodyears at? Track prep is also really, really important. HRP is usually pretty good, but 1.76 good... not a chance.

He must be getting unreal traction and the 4.10s have to be helping that number...

however it is explained, one thing is certain: CobraSVT

Oh, and BTW, we are running a 3.73 rear end, but we are running a pretty big tire -- 29.6 inches. The L is running a tire that is about 1.2" smaller. So, their effective drive ratio, if the 20s are the reference tire, are roughly 1.2" smaller than ours making them about 4.1% smaller. So, their effective drive ratio is about 3.73 + 4.1% or a 3.88. That makes the truck run a little stronger given that it has to do a little less work to turn the tires.

The same holds true by increasing the gear ratio in the rear end. The loss comes from up high where torque drops off as RPMs rise. I believe that cobra has mentioned that he belives the 4.10s netted a better bottom at the expense of better MPH on top. He may not still believe that way, today though... It would be good to get him to answer this.

My Hoosier slicks are 28" OD which means they will net me an effective ratio (using the 20s as a reference) with a 3.93 rear end. That's right in the middle of a 3.73 and 4.10. It will be interesting to see how it affects my MPH and my short times...

For the enquiring mind, going from a 3.73 to a 4.10 is an increase of 10% over stock. That means at any given RPM range, you will be 10% higher than before at the same speed. So, if an 80MPH cruise is 2500 rpms before the change, it will be 2750 after the change... If it weren't for this little nagging detail, I probably would have already done this mod.
