Help..installing Billet door switch covers

I just got my Billet door switch covers from UPR products.

Of course no helpful hints or instructions

Anyway, has anyone removed or replaced their existing door switches (windows, door locks, mirror controls, etc.) and is their anything I should be aware of??

By looking at the new ones it looks like they just snap on and the existing ones would just pull off but I want to make sure before I go tugging on my switches and screw something up.

Thanks in advance for your help!!

Bill,

To remove the lock and window switches, rock the switch foward or back, and then take a small screw driver and pry up they will pop right off. Then just push the new buttons on. As for the mirror switch and the little switch pry with screw driver as well. I had to use 2 screw drivers for the little switch to get it off.
Good luck

Well, I had a little time before football games this weekend to install my Billet switch covers.

It was a little tricky getting the existing covers off as I did not want to scratch up the trim or ruin the stock covers but with a little persistence I got 2 of them off.

Well, low and behold, Ford changed the switches in 02 and the UPR Products billet switch covers do not work

I don't think the years were stated on the website when I ordered them but I may have overlooked them. On the Shipping Order it did say 97-01 so I called UPR and they confirmed they do not work and do not make a set for the 02.

Oh well....guess I'll send them back and look for some other mod.

That's a bummer. Was this a set for the front and rear door switches? Or just fronts?

Sorry, 1JT, I already sent them back.

ChesterC, they were the complete set for all 4 doors. How the covers mount to the switches this year is different than prior years so they don't work. I guess the mirror control switches probably would have worked but UPR doesn't break up the set with exception to the rear doors.

Oh well, have to look for some other mod now
