Bed Rug vs. Line X

Can somebody (even if you don't drive an 02 screw), anybody tell me the pros and cons between a bed rug and a Line-X (or simular) type spray on liner.

I know that a spray on you wouldn't have to worry about the elements. Other than that? Josh?

I like how the bedrug looks. I had a line X in my previous screw and man is it durable... You really can't go wrong either way. Comes down to your preference. If you have a lid, bedrug all the way.

The only benefit I have heard about line-x is that it tends to quiet down noise, rattles, etc. from the bed area. I can't confirm or deny this one, though.

bedrug is really durable to the elements also, not as good as a linex obviously, but still holds up fine. . no personal experience yet but alot of L guys have bedrugs without tonneaus and they have said they hold up fine.

hopefully i'll be getting my bedrug in a few months. gotta scrounge up enough $$ 1st

i like the bedrug cuz i'm not gonna be using my bed for anything really heavy duty where i'd need a linex, i like the looks of the bedrug better, and the bedrug is removable, yet still really durable.

So i'd say, tonneau or no tonneau, if you use your bed for more heavy duty stuff, then the linex. if not and you use it for the occasional home depot trip or whatever, then i'd go with a bedrug.

chickenears is a supporting vendor at this site, and he's got a really good price on bedrugs. i'm ordering from him when i get mine cuz he's got a low price and it'll help support the site

How thick?

How thick is the Line-X? I was thinking it it weren't too thick, about getting both, since I will move heavy stuff, but also fragile stuff as well.

With what you said, go with Line-X. I see no reason for both. I could be wrong, but I don't think the bed rug would fit right with the Line-X in. Save the money and buy something else.

Thanks

I was kind of thinking that they probably wouldn't work together but figured I'd ask. I like the looks of both and integrity of both.

I'm guessing that if the Line-X is 1/8th of an inch thick (give or take), then the bedrug wouldn't fit since it's formed to a naked bed.

I don't move stuff all the time so either will suffice.

Decisions, decisions.

It is not formed like a mini skirt on a stripper

There is some play to it and 1/4" is not anything to worry about.

Did you think to check out the "Bedliner" section? This is a subject that has hundreds of posts/replies/opinions. One is permanent and the other can be removed and you can get the truck back to original. I had a BedRug in my Lightning and removed it before I traded for the HD.

I have Line-X in mine and love it. I guess it depends on your needs.

i know on the commercials for the rhino liner they say they spray the walls with 1/8" and the bed floor and tgate with 1/4", not sure if its the same for the linex though

anyway, if you do get both, although i wouldn't really see too much of a purpose too get both of them...spend the extra money for another mod...but you'd have to figure out a new way to mount the bedrug cuz it attaches with velcro, and it probably wouldn't stick to the linex liner

Yeah, I agree with HD456. You probably don't need or want both.

For occassional use, I would definitely recommend the bedrug. It is easy on the knees if you need to crawl around back there. It is removeable if you so desired too.

I'll jump in again...

The bed rug is marine grade carpet. It can stain if you get nasty dirty stuff on it, so be forewarned. It can generally be cleaned up pretty well.

The Line-X as you can see from the photo is very uniform. It is extremely durable and hard as hell. Rhino linings and some of the others are a bit more "rubbery" and are put on thicker than line-x (1/8th in coating max). If weight is a concern, rhino is heavy...

I personally like the line-x because I am a wash and wear kind of guy. If I get grease on the line-x then a little soap and water and viola -- it's clean.

You can get the bedrug clean but with more effort involved.

The bedrug on the other hand is visually more appealing. If you have a garage I would go bedrug. If you are going to be outside, I would go linex just for the easier clean up factor...

Carpet is carpet, no matter how durable. It will have to be vacuumed/shampood to get really clean. All you need is a hose with the line X. When mine got really dirty, I used a pushbroom and a big squirt of dishwashing detergent and scrubbed a little to a perfect clean...
