Stock boost a little high?

Well I installed the gauges today and noticed that most of the ime it reads 20psi vac then when I put it to the floor it goes to 8.5-9 psi boost. I thought we only had 6psi? My truck is stock.

Well Whoo Hoo for me.

Not to bring you down dude but where Ford puts the vacuum line port is between the blower and the intercooler. That's the highest pressure point and that's where people get their crazy boost readings from. The best way to measure boost is after the intercooler, which, unfortunately neccitates that you tap and drill into your lower intake manifold.

Basically, if you're going off the stock vacuum source, subtract 2 psi. and you'll be at your correct boost pressure. Hope that helps some

Thats true, but how many guys do that are little if none. So yes your 9.5 is a little high.

Mine was at 10 with a chip, filter and air box mod. Now over 15+
