Thumbs up Gauges Installed

Thanks Everyone for your help!!

Well I finally got my gauges finished!! (I will post pics later)

I ordered Auto meter Carbon fiber series gauges for christmas. I ordered A/f and Boost.

I ordered everything from summit racing.

ATM 4775 Air/Fuel ratio
ATM 4703 30psi boost gauge (ATM 4701 20psi)
ATM 17304 Full pillar dual gauge (ATM 17305 triple)

The pillar was easy to install, just remove the grab handle's 8mm bolts and the stock pillar falls down. Test fit new pillar. NOTE: if you intend to keep your grab handle holes will have to be cut. Install gauges into pillar, test fit and adjust.

Take all of the wires form the gauges and strech them out, add wire as it will be needed.(I added 2.5 ft to the Boost gauge, 6ft to the purple wire) Wrap scotch super 33+ electrical tape around them for extra insulation. Remove the door panel kick plate.
Fish the wire through an existing hole.(shine light where the old pillar was) With wires fished here comes the tricky part.

You will need to remove the bottom dash for this. The upper dash by the speedo just pops out. The bottom dash has 7 -7mm screws holding it on. 4 of the screws hold the hood and brake latches on. Then the 2 - 8mm screws hold the metal backing(down where the fuses are)
The red wire from the boost gauge has to go to a switched hot curcuit. You will need to tape into the BROWN wire that is in a conector on the right side of the bottom dash (white conector) The red wire from the A/F gauge needs to be on a Ignition switch wire RED W/ BLACK stripe. This wire is about 16 gauge and is located near the steering wheel base. You will need to cut the tape off.

The ground wires I grounded near the side fire wall under the brake release. You will see a green screw. (behind the door panel kick plate)

The purple wire from the A/F will need to be routed outside of the cab and into the engine compartment. If you look under the hood on the drvers side fire wall, next to the boost dump. You will see a big rubber grommet the has nothinig coming out of it. This is a handy little hole that FORD left for us! Fish the puprle wire and the boost tube out through there.
The purple wire needs to be long enough to reach over near the battery.(DO NOT HOOK TO THE BATTERY) The wire gets connceted to the ECM look for a RED w/ BLACK stripe wire. It's 22 gauge. Tap into this by stripping some shielding off without cutting the wire. MAKE sure you Sodier your conection.
The boost tube gets hooked up to a black hose with a white fitting and a black cap. Look on the drivers side near the boost dump. You will need an adapter tube for this.(auto parts store)

Then just put everything back togther. That's all I remember. Hope this helps someone in the future!!!

Under normal driving conditions the A/F will fluctuate a lot because the ECM is constantly adjusting from lean to rich. At WOT it should stay kind-of steady somewhere in the rich side. If it is in the lean side then your O2 may be bad or you are close to blow your engine Don't take any chances

Yep,

It constantly is moving. Then when you mash it, it goes to little rich.

That's okay, I just wanted a ballpark figure. How much of a price difference is there between regular and Carbon Fiber gauges?

Thanks in advance.

edit* that set up looks NICE! What was the price tag on that one?

4WL HOGG,

I think that they all were the same ball park price. I went with the Carbon fiber series because it matched my dash.
