I tried to do a search on the board for this topic, but the search function would not allow it. (Something about a minimum of four words )

I'd like to know where you folks have purchased the Oil Separators. I thought Ken800 got his from R.E.M., but they don't appear to sell them anymore.

Secondly, I'd like to know if you're deriving any benefits (perceived or actual) from having this in place.

I am interested in installing one if the cost-benefit analysis proves its need.

I got mine at Sears in the air compressor section

Thats all REM is selling you anyway and mine works great, it even has a little drain handle on the bottom that makes draining very easy....

 

I got mine from REM. I think it was 49.95.

Yes, I could have built one cheaper... But, this thing came all set up with a 90 degree bend in place and had the nipples for plugging directly into the stock hosing. Truly a 2 minute install, if that.

My time is very, very valuble, so this was a gem and works...

And mine was $25 dollars and I had all the Russell fittings lying around to make it look like something that belonged on a Harley Truck and not on the side of an air compressor. Oh my money is very, very valuable, and mine also worked like a gem

Is up to you, REM for $49 + shipping or Sears for $25 + tax, both will get the job done, but one saves you money and you dont have to wait for the U.P.S guy.

 

I didn't have the fittings lying around or know what I.D. or O.D. the tubing was so I just bought it to save time. Your call however. That's the thing with these sorts of things. You either value your time or your money more... personal choice... it's all good in the end.

You are right, if time is more important than the REM oil Separator is the way to go. Myself, I like a little Bling with the MODS I do so I chose to go with a setup that would set the truck off. It is after all your choice Brass fittings just did not look good on a truck like this
