I went to meet a buddy this evening for dinner in Barrie (45min North of Toronto). He and his wife a kid are flying to Dallas tomorrow to visit his parents for new years, so they are spending the night there in a Motel. At first I took Yonge Street (longest street in the world) up because I wanted to check some Ford dealers on the way to see if I could spot a 03 HD. The first dealer had on sitting at the back of the lot. I don’t understand why it is not in the showroom. It was very filthy looking as you can see by the pictures. Hurts to see. The exhaust pipes just look sickening. What’s up with the rust?


I continued on my journey and missed the second dealership I was going to check out. So I go over to the Highway to make my way to Barrie a little quicker. When I got up there I still had some time to kill and I had to hit a bank machine. Well right across the road form the Bank is a Ford dealer that not only had one or two but three 03 HD on the lot. One black and two Two-Toned. For some reason the black on was marked at $50,000 ($35,000 US +-) CDN and the other two where $54,000 CDN. The black on even had the Harley bed liner. Well I must say seeing the Two-Tone in person is a lot better than pictures. I am not sure that I would get one over black. If I did it would be with the hope that it would keep clean better, but I am not sure that would be the case.

i was wondering the same thing at my local dealer. i happed to spot a 03 heritage edition, and when i went to check it out, i noticed a 03 HD hidden behind it. every other year they have HD's they are on the center of the showroom floor. i asked them why it was outside and hidden and they said they were trying to get rid of the 02 model vehicles 1st.

easy fix for the exhast. sand the inside down and hit it with a coat of silver rustoleum. i did that back in june and mine still look like new

I did the same thing to my 2000 HD ex. pips last summer. I will need to do it to my 2002 as soon as it gets nice enough.

Just seeing it like that on a lot would make me think twice about buying it. Even though I know it can be "fixed"

 

yup i know what you mean. i went over my 00 looking for any and every little spot, fingerprint, spec of dirt, defect, etc before i drove it home.

looks like they've been doing a little driving in it too. looks a little to be dirty to just get that way from sitting in the snow

Thanks for the pics. Can't wait to see the '03s here in person. Pulled through the Middlekauf Ford dealership on Friday looking for them and didn't see anything but one black '02 on the new car lot. I asked the salesmen if they had any '03s and one of them said, "But that's an '02 right there (the truck I'm driving)! You wanting to trade it in ALREADY?!?" I told them I was just looking to see some. *LOL* They then started going all over my truck wanting to know the mileage, talking about how "clean" it is and asking how fast I'd gotten it up to.

 

As far as keeping the '03 in the back it is most likely because they need to get rid of the '02 like the dealer told Josh. Especially this time of year when if they don't sell they are going to have to pay tax on all thos vehicles as inventory.
The Ford dealership by me that sells all the SVT like the lightnings and Boss 5.4 is waiting for his '03 to come in. I asked what type and how many and he was not sure, but knew they were going to get both the monochromatic black and silver on black two-toned but not till around Feb. Can't wait to take picks and
