its alive!!!!!
ive finally picked up my truck from the paint shop....
man its alive...
the flames really glow...on the sides of the bed..were the stock decals were...
and the chameleon paint fades down into the ram air inlets of the cervini's hood... very awesome...im stoked....

did it.... i inserted the pics in my intial entry...
whats the verdict...do you guys like it...im very happy...
a few minor flaws...a little bleed thru in the outlining of the flames...and a few specks in the inlets that seem like something got into the paint when it dryed...dont know if this will be corrected without a major re-do...so i might have to live with it...
all in all im very happy...merry christmas to all you hot truck drivers

too bad we can't see how great the flames must look in person. any chance you could upload a video of them when you like walk by them so we can see the color change? or just snap a bunch of pics at different angle's? Looks great though!

im thinking matching grill inserts like harley#356...
will wait for a couple of weeks...but thats a definite required item...
harley did you have to fair the rear lip to the fenders with shims {washers}...so that the lines with the fenders are even with the hood...
the truck has come a long way from the body shop pics....sure feels nice to have her back

as for it being lower by the cowl, like lower than the fenders, i'm assuming the shop didn't shim the hood. Most of cervini's are like that, and you need to take out the very back bolt on each hinge, loosen the front bolt just a little bit, and slide washers in one at a time between the hinge and the hood for the rear bolt. you don't have to shim the front bolt cuz it then it might raise the front or middle section higher than the fenders. it can be a PITA to try and slide a washer in betweeen the hinge and hood at the rear, but its worth it when it all looks perfect. Just do a few washers at a time, however many you think you need and then tighten everythihng back up. you'lll probably have to readjust the hood seams though, which can be a major PITA! it took me about 1/2 hour to put the new hood on and take the old one off, but at least an hour to adjust all the seams so it looked perfect. ya gotta loosen a few bolts, shift the hood, retighten, shut, see how it lines up, repeat the process over and over again until its perfect.
i was also having trouble with the latch. when it would click down once, like not all the way shut, the seams would line up, but when i'd shut it all the way, it would pull to the left about 1/4".
that was getting me pretty POed cuz i couldn't figure it out. It turned out i had to take the hood latch off and spin it around 180*for it to finally fit right
also, if the front of the hood is high or low by the fenders, open the hood and adjust the two screw type bump stops. there is one on each side above the headlights.
ya may want to take it back to the shop to do if you don't have the patience to do it all though :lol
