Well heck, now what? My venerable old Toyota pickup is on it's last legs, so I dropped by the friendly neighborhood Ford store to look at another pickup, and ended up testing out a 2003 Saleen Mustang convertible. WOW!!! Also drove a Cobra and a Mach 1. Not much difference I can see off the line and in accelerating, but then being on public streets with a sales weenie in the copilot seat didn't help. Mom says we can afford the payments, and NO, I can't go and buy another motorcycle. I figured I can save mucho dinero by repowering and repainting the old truck, and putting a VROD in the garage.

Next call, the insurance company!

 

I would do the Cobra. Not much difference between the Mach 1 or the Cobra??????? They must have had a block of wood under the gas pedal of the Cobra!!!!!! The Cobra's are pretty quick.

Last year I would have leaned more to the Saleen but now with the supercharger on the Cobra I think I would buy the Cobra. I am more a straight line guy so the added suspension upgrades in the Saleen have very little effect on me.

Vrod's don't get me the least bit excited - inflated prices, the ugly welds on the frame and bearly quicker than a VTX - but that is only my opinion....that and a buck might get you a coffee.

 

I say go for the Cobra or Mach1

personally i'd go for the mach1 just cuz i like the shaker hood and that whole deal, and plus my dad used to have a 69 Mach1 mustang, but i wouldn't mind a cobra either

go with the 03 cobra my chick has one and a 03 saleen 281e and i raced her dad and the cobra blew the %$&*ing doors of the 281. plus the mach one is weak and it looks weak

i'd still rather have a from the factory kind of car, although the roush's and saleens are awsome too. My sisters b/f friend has a 1990 saleen mustang. that thing is FAST!

anyway, they are only making 3 GT's for 03 to stand for their 1-2-3 victory back at lemans back in the 60's or whatever. and then in 04 they are going into limited production and making like a few hundered or whatever they said before.
but i agree, GT = i'd love to see one of those in person!
maybe philly auto show will have one this year..although i doubt it

yeah i know what ya mean. I'll be talking in general or whatever and bring up that i love the new ford gt's, and people are like what do you want a mustang for?
last year philly auto show pretty much sucked. Only a few concepts, and most of those were mopars, ford display really sucked, only a few of their production cars thats nothing really special about them, and then only a KR and a tbird. hopefully this year since the 03HD's are already released to the public, they'll have one. i really want to see a 2tone in person.
do you know when the show is? i know its in january sometime, but i can't remember the dates.

 

I'm not sure when it is yet. I aslo hope to see a 2 tone HD. I may see one today.hehe I have to get a new air filter for my truck, the down side is I have to drive to the dealer that I Didn't buy my truck from. I hope they don't mind me taking pictures of everything.

But your right the Ford section sucked!!! GM had a few concepts, Chrysler had the viper there. I have pics somewhere of all of the cars. The coolest one I saw was the Blackwood. I just wish they were lower or something...... I dunno. Let me know if you find out when the auto show is. Thanks
