The End of our 1997 F150...?
The End of our 1997 F150...?
My stepdad bought himself this kick@$$ Ford some few years back. Yes, we enjoyed ourselves very much on the road, it was the life of the party. The vehicle that stood out in parties and other events. There was nothing it couldnt do, we had a whole family of awesome cars. The F150, the Mustang, and some nice Chevy Truck.
And then, the bad luck took our 'collection'.
Out with the F150 visiting family/friends in Oakland, my stepdad decides that at 1AM in the morning he can drive all the way back to Cutler. Around the 170 mile mark(halfway-ish), he started drifting off to sleep. Closing his eyes for 5-10 seconds at a time.
Well, after a 10 second closing of the eyes, he opens them to see the truck veering off the highway into dirt. He panics and psycho-turns the wheel, flooring it at the sametime to get out.
On the side of the highway, a sleeping semi. His flooring and hard turn send the truck almost sideways into it. Several loud booms later, the remnants of our F150 are scattered all over the highway. The semi hardly took any notable damage!
Well Stepdad got out with minor scratches and some big bruise/rash(seatbelt). The F150 now sits all sad-looking in the barn waiting for some ambitious(money and patience) effort to restore it to its former glory.
Incase your wondering about the damage, its quite extensive. I'll note what I can think off, the hood was torn open and ripped off. The back windows shattered and body damage everywhere, the front is broken in half one side is falling 'under' the other, the back is smashed sideways and one wheel popped. (I shall post pics soon)
