APRIL 7TH MEET AT SPARTA DRAGWAY, ONTARIO CANADA
HI!... Just wanted to let some of you know that some of us are planning on going to SPARTA DRAGWAY near LONDON. This is in ONTARIO, CANADA, and about 2.5 hours from the WINDSOR/DETROIT border. We'll see if the "FREAK" can get the naturally asperated F-150 to go 14.20's. I finally got my 24lb injectors installed this weak. Hopeto see you there.

HI!... Come on guys, let's get a roll call going here. There's only 4 days to go till the GREAT CANADIAN SPARTA MEET! Has anyone heard what the weather is supposed to be like near LONDON on SATURDAY? It's supposed to be 68 degree's and rain here in WINDSOR. I hope it does'nt rain. My truck is still at my dealers and they hav'nt even touched it yet! IDIOTS. They told me it would be ready for FRIDAY afternoon, but I dought it. They still have to replace a cracked 4R70-W taistock, blown head gaskets, and a non-working power mirror. Hope I can still make it.

Bailing on Sparta for the 7th. Don't want to be the only Lightning around. Did that all last year, and it's no fun. A couple of us are planning on Cayuga on the 8th however.

Well guys it's raining here in WINDSOR right now. I hope it's clearer in SPARTA for tomorrow. If we get rained out on the 7TH, I'll be going on the 8TH instead. I hope some of you will still be able to make it in case we get rained out on the 7TH. I picked up my truck from the dealer today, so I'm all set. HI!... Well guys I just got off the phone with DAVE at SPARTA DRAGWAY. It seems that it just stopped raining there about a half an hour ago, and they are expecting a lot more rain this afternoon. The track will be closed for APRIL 7TH. DAVE told me that the track will be open tomorrow (APRIL 8TH) and that they are expecting no rain and temps near 70 degree's. I'll be going tomorrow. Hope to see you guys there.

HI!... Well guys I went to SPARTA DRAGWAY today. I guess I'll have to tell you about it, SINCE NOBODY ELSE SHOWED UP!!! The weather was a nice 72 degree's and the barometer was around 30. The BIG problem was the wind. We had a 40KPH head wind blowing straight UP the track. Put it this way, a "2000" TRANS AM WS6, 6-SPEED, with RAM AIR and exhaust only could get a 14.56E.T. The owner told me that he ran a 13.88E.T there last OCT with no wind. Another CAMARO SS only ran 14.38E.T. All day all you heard was everybody complaining about the wind and the starting line. SPARTA had not yet prepped the track for this year and refused to put down any VHT until it was prepped. The left lane was terrible. I kept burning my tires off all the way through 1ST gear and part of 2ND. The right lane was hooking pretty dam good for not having VHT on it. All I could muster was a 2.0 60FT time, and that was with spinning for about 5-6 feet. Because it was a TEST AND TUNE day, they did'nt have the timing machine set-up for 1/8 mile numbers. That really pissed me off, because I was there to test my short times. My best of the day was 14.80E.T at 90MPH. Last year with the exact same weather, but no wind I went 14.53E.T and was running out of fuel at the 1000FT mark. I paired up against the TRANS AM a couple of times. I always took him out of the hole and held him off until I would hit 3RD gear. Then he would slowly creep away. Most of the time we ran each other he would beat me by about 3 tenths. I am pretty sure if there was not such a head wind that my truck would of gone 14.20's.My truck felt much stronger than last year but was getting thrown around alot by the wind once in 3RD gear. A barn with 4 wheels comes to mind!LOL! Well hopefully there will be no wind at MILAN DRAGWAY next weekend.

Cayuga on Sunday offered the same wind only it was a TAILWIND. Run with your tailgate up, if you know what I mean.
Start line was horrible. My first run netted a 2.41 60' time, but with a blistering 103 mph finish. Hoo Ahhh!
I was only able to get a best 60' time of 2.081, but that produced a 13.41 @ 104.37 mph, my best time ever. Remember that this is with a new truck with 1100 miles on it.
With a good start line and some more break-in, this baby's gonna fly.
