Thumbs up 2nd annual Silver Lake Sand Dunes trip

Memorial day weekend the place is packed and you can wait as long as 7 hours to get to the dunes. Lets plan on the weekend of May 20th. I will be going up on the Friday evening the 19th of May. There are Hotels/Motels and camp grounds right in Silver Lake. As I have no camping equipment I will be sleeping in a bed. All those interested please e-mail me at: jmc.chartier@sympatico.ca and I will
keep track or reply to this post.

Hotel info is available at http://www.Oceana.net/SilverLake/bus...ACCOMMODATIONS

Camping info is at: http://www.Oceana.net/SilverLake/business.html#CAMPING

If enough people attend maybe we can get a group rate somewhere.

See you there

Jean Marc Chartier

JMC come back here, Silver lake is the other way!

JMC,
Thanks for the info! This sounds like a fun weekend. I hope we can get some more of our friends here to attend. I am flexible on camping or hotel although a group campout can be a real good time. I am also flexible on a date as far as getting a good turnout of our local F-150 onliners. Please keep us informed of any responses you get via e-mail.

Best reguards,
Jim

Thumbs up

I'm gearing up for the May 20th trip. My wife is looking into the camp ground we usually go to. It looks like we usually stay at: Sandy Shores Camp ground and resort in Mears (616) 873-3003. Jellystone is very close to the dunes and has cabin rentals (so does Sandy Shores) (616) 873-4502. I say we go with one of the two.

hey guys, I'm still planning on being there, I'll have plenty of recovery equipment available, I'll have my winch with all the winching shackles and all that stuff, as well as my hi-lift and wide variety of two straps. Even though its not an f-150, check out my four-wheeling trip from last weekend at http://bart.is-s.com/~explorers/tutt...ttlecreek.html and you may understand why I bring all the recovery equipment, not that I plan on getting stuck in sand but hey you never know... good thing about f-150's, they have a lot of tow points .

yeah yeah, I know its not an F-150, but it kicks *** off-road

yep, daily driver vehicle... I love the looks I get around town... anyways I can't wait for Silver Lake, it'll be the furthest I've driven yet for four-wheeling (should beat out my 1200 miles that I drove to California, heh heh).

I welcome all vehicles to the dunes. I can't wait. Lets make a decision on the camping/cabins now. Maybe we can get a group number and a discount or something.

Cool

Hi August,
I am thinking of camping too. I can borrow a friends pop up, I think. Will you be camping in a tent or pop up or will you be renting a cabin? You or anyone else going, can e-mail me (see signature) so we can get details.

Reguards,
Jim

Hey guys - just got back from Moab and figured its time to start working on the next trip. Anyways, if I do attend I will be camping in the back of my Explorer, although if someone wanted ot let me use the shower occasionally it would be appreciated . i just have to cut costs on these trips because I love traveling, but hate paying hundreds of dollars for hotels, etc.
