Post GP on MSD ignitions

Hey gang,
If it is allowed I have a group purchase going for the brand new MSD ignition. They have three new systems available. There is one for vehicals with distributers, one for vehicals with coil packs and the one for the Gen 2 Lightnings with the 8 coils on each plug. There is no cutting of wires, it works with the factory ignition but has a much higher spark discharge and the MSD multiple spark discharge for 20 degrees duration for a complete combustion better a low rpm's and much better at higher rpm's I cant go into prices until I hear from Roger. Thanks

Cool

weandog#7,

Do these work for regular F-150's? I checked out the MSD website, and saw a pic of one ignition box. Is it controlled by a single ignition box or does it come with individual coil packs? Thanks.

Jupiterak,Yes they do.
What type factory ignition do you have?
The 1st is a single channel for 4,6,or 8 cyl. engines with a distributor, points or amplifier
The 2nd is a 4 channel for distributorless DIS vehicals with coil packs
The 3rd is a 8 channel distributorless for engines with individual coils for each cylinder like the gen.2 Lightnings
Hope this helps! I hope to get the green light from Roger so we can get these at a good price. I'll be more specific and answer as many question as I can if this GP is allowed. Larry

Oh,
I forgot one thing. It is a single box that piggybacks your factory ignition, there are no coil packs included. That would be the next thing we need, more powerful coil packsbut they don't make them yet!

Cool

weandog#7,

"8 channel distributorless for engines with individual coils for each cylinder like the gen.2 Lightnings."
As long as I don't have to splice into the factory ignition system; then put me down for one.
Please let me know on the status of the MSD ignition. Thanks.

Bill

jupiterak,
Do you have a coil on plug ignition from the factory? Do you have regular looking spark plug wires or just a power wire that goes to the coils that are on top of the plugs. You are the only non-Lightning so far, so I want to make sure that we get the right one for you. Yours will be cheaper if not the same as the Lightnings. No splicing of wires and MSD does not have them on their site yet.

(wean07@aol.com) the price is $355 for the one for the Lightnings and should be less for other models. If we get 25 orders all at once we can get a better price. We have 15 right now so it is well within our reach.
Give thanks to Roger and Steve for the green light on this GP
Larry

Here are the specs.

Stacker Ignition Controls

: Simple to install with no cutting or disconnecting wires.
: Power capacitive discharge sparks improve combustion for increased performance.
: Diagnostic LED confirms operation at a glance.
: Models for most any application from distributors, to coil packs and individual coils per cylinder.

The MSD Stacker Ignition connects to your vehicles wiring without disconnecting anything! Actually, the factory ignition remains in place and the Stacker delivers a powerful CD spark to improve the initial ionization of the plug gap to improve combustion in the cylinder. The two spark profiles work together to give you a great boost in ignition power in an economical ignition control. The majority of stock ignitions are inductive designs. This style is inexpensive to produce and is adequate for OEM vehicles. Inductive systems generally have fair spark intesity, but fall short when it comes to high rpm operation and high voltage for performance engines. The MSD Stacker Ignition produces a high powered CD spark on top of the factory inductive spark so essentially, you receive the benefits of both spark profiles! The Stacker Ignitions simply "piggyback" your factoy ignition wiring. This is an advantage in that the factory ECU continues to see the factory ignition signals so there should be no check engine lights or tachometer problems. There are three versions of the Stacker offered depending on the application. Each Stacker is supplied with everything that you need for installation.
SPECIFICATIONS:
operating voltage: 10-18 V
Current requirements: 1A per 1000 rpms
RPM Range: 15000 Max
Spark Series Duration: 20 degrees
Energy Output Max: 120mJ 250 V
Voltage output Max: 250V

Stacker Ignition, Single Channel Distributers
# 7000 For 4,6 or 8-cylinder engines with a distributor, points or amplifier.

Stacker Ignition, 4-channel,Distributorless
#7010 Designed to work with DIS vehicles with coil packs.

Stacker Ignition, 8 cnannel, Distributorless
# 7020 For engines with individual coils per cylinder. up to eight cylinders
GP price is $355. $365 shipped
If we get 25 orders all at once we will get a better price, I'll know that price later today. Contact me at (Wean 07 @aol.com) and post here I'll get the shipping info to you now or when we get the 25 for the lower price whichever way you want to do it.(wean07@aol.com)
Thanks, Larry

After hours on the computer tracking down parts#'s and info on the new Stacker ignitions, I'll say that it is to new of a product to get a good deal on. We would just be getting free shipping basically. I've decided that it would be better to get them from Summit Racing.1-800-230-3030 I know the MSD # 7020 is for the gen. 2 Lightnings. Just glad that MSD has these new ignitions out now. Sorry for any problems that I may have caused. The price from Summit on the MSD # 7020 is $375.34 to your door step.
Thanks. Larry
