For cruising? A black-on-black 1961 Lincoln Continental convertible.

For high-speed highway driving? A 1971 Mercedes-Benz 300SEL 6.3.

For all-around fun? A 1967 Porsche 911S.

How can you not include the "rent a racer"? I mean - how cool was it to be able to go to Hertz and rent a Shelby for a day at the track (not that I was old enough to do it)?

Other likes (in no particular order):
'68 Shelby GT500KR Convertible
'64 Corvette
'71 DeTomaso Pantera
'70 Hemi 'Cuda
'70 Boss 429 (lets see the power from this one in the Boss F150 )

Lots of other old muscle cars are on my list of things I would like to own at some point in time.

It's gotta be

427 Cobra (I'll take one just like the one pictured before)

Other contenders:
Maclaren F1
RUF/Porsche Twin Turbo "you better call" 911
Ferrari 550 Barchetta

I would have to say the coolest cars ever built were made in the late 60's FORD, Chevy and its GM kin folk as well as Dodge had some bad *** cars back then but if i had to pick one out of that bunch it would be the Cheville SS 454 to bad it was made by Chevy.
