Next year i am going to be moving down to louisiana to attend tech school, and then from there i am hoping that most of my work will be centered around Houston for awhile. I was wondering what kind of trucks are popular down there, as in what type do a lot of ppl own? Like whats the most popular lifted truck? If i came down there with a '00 F250 4x4 with a 10 or 12in lift, would i see many others like it? What about a f150 2x4 prerunner syle, lifted, supercharged. or maybe f150, with dubs,and a supercharger. I would like to stand out. Around here there are a lot of lifted chevys and SD fords. But not many lifted f150s like mine. I like to have a truck that not many have. Any info is appreciated. Thanks, joel

Yes, that is very true. But, i just want to have a truck that sticks out, rare to see one built like it.

 

You probably won't find much like your pre-runner style truck. There are a lot of SDs around, but here in San Antonio there does not seem to be a sig percentage of big lifts in any brand.

A lot depends on where you are, trends seem to vary in different areas. The valley for example is big with sport trucks with ground effects.

You really need to hear from someone in the Houston area.

I live in Houston and probably the most common lifted trucks are the old body style chevy Z71's, F150's, F250's and Dodge Ram's.

F-Series in my area.

I was on my way home from work yesterday, and was like....damn.....Ford Trucks everywhere.

The main ones you see are F150's, F250's, and King Ranch (alot).

<EDIT> as far as lifted.....I have seen a few F150 (4X4), Z71's, Dodge RAM....but it's slim. Most of us folks here in East Texas, like our trucks like you see mine.

 

You're going to find just about every kind of truck here in texas. The F250s are a dime a dozen though, with alot of them having larger tires and wheels installed (although you dont see too many that a lifted a lot).

But trucks are extremely common here, and most of them have some sort of modifications done, so probably what you should do is wait until you move down here and see what is uncommon in your area.

heh, coincidering like 60% of vehicles around here are trucks, what isnt popular?

I guess I havent seen many prerunner style trucks, especialy not wit a prerunner style bumper bar. I like the looks of them tho

 

Yeah I like those too...mostly just see cattle guards around here I suppose.

 

What kind of trucks? Mostly 2WD for some silly reason that I cannot fathom.
