PETA = nutcase ?
Are some of these people in PETA just plain freaks? I mean some of them act like perhaps they smoke a little to much of mother earth’s natural plant life.
They need to get real jobs. They act like terrorist sometimes it may be a good idea to put them on some special watch list so they can be taken to the rubber room. I mean give me a break. They’re latest adventure while under the influence of God knows what was to interrupt a fine public service that was put on by Victory Secret fashion show. Three of four women jumped on stage to protest something they didn’t have the correct information on. I can see that happening since they have fogged brains to begin with. Something to do with fur. Well, come to find out Victory Secret don’t use real fur, they use fake fur something that PETA recommends. So I guess these women either didn't read the manual or well were just jealous of the good-looking models on stage.
It’s like this, animals are here for human consumption. They are here for us to EAT as we please, they are here for us to use as clothes to stay warm and they are here for us to experiment on to find cures for HUMANS. So all you wacked out terrorist PETA drink some milk or something.
What do some of you other people think about these drugged up nut cases?

They are loonies...
we had a PETA protester in Jackson a few months back,
no correct that, we've had two in the past year who
demonstrated by parading around nude. It sure gave
our local news geezers a thrill. The last one stood
around in downtown Jackson waiting to throw her robe
off, and she was arrested for her trouble as soon as
she tried to drop. Female officers were on her like white
on rice. Funny stuff. The other one, the first, pulled her
clothes off alongside a busy intersection (no accidents)
and held up some stupid sign espousing some of their
usual nonsense.

PETA protesting in the nude, well if they are good looking women with nice hootters I say hell they have a right to protest
Come on down to my neighborhood...

"Seriously though I don't like PETA at all. But I am against animal cruelty and to a point I don't agree on animal testing."
I have respect for your view on animal testing. Let me ask this, and no disrespect is intended. If say you had a child with a diease and they were testing a cure for this child on an animal would you be for that?
Myself I would. I would have to pick sacraficing the animal in order to save a human life. However I don't support testing animals for things like make-up or something that has nothing to do with a possible cure for humans.
I still like the idea about NUDE PETA protesting though...
good looking women ONLY.

Now for the rest of the story. Turns out they were protesting the model, not the show. The model had recently signed to be a spokesperson for a company that deals in real fur. That's not to mean that I agree with their tactics.
I wouldn't have a problem if they protested peacefully outside. I don't have a problem with anybody protesting peacefully. Their militaristic tactics is where they lose what little support I have for them.
While I don't support PETA, I don't support the other side of the spectrum either where there are people who think nothing of harming another animal strictly for sport or simply because they don't like that species or particular animal. I'm of the school where if you kill it, you eat it, give it away for food, or sell it for food.
Of course, there are exceptions, such as when it comes to vermin and things with more than 4 legs (bugs, spiders, etc.). You get the idea.

Even testing make-up, while the animal may look rediculous I don't see how that is/would be bad/harmfull so I'd be fine with that.
But we all now that there is pointless testing out there on animals that harm them for no reason. That I would be against. No specifics to mention, but one would be nieve to think that it doesn't happen.
And another thing about animals, while I really enjoy eating them I have to say that some of them die extremely horrible deaths that can easily be avoided. (ie - cats in China)
Dennis:
Man, this is tough, I agree with you about harming animals for no reason unless your going to eat them or something. Though this part you may disagree with is when needed to shoot a cat with a BB to keep it out of my area.
captainoblivious:
I figured that we basically agreed. When I said testing with make-up I seen a show a long while back where the test they do is to see how make-up reacts with the animals and sometimes it does harm the animal. I can't remember the specifics but something to do with allergies of the make-up compared to humans. Some of the animals they showed were in pretty poor shape and that I didn't agree with or see the need, then again I don't wear make-up (LOL)
Oh, they have cats in China? Is there no where on mother earth that trucks are safe from cats climbing all over them????

I can find conceptual holes big enough to drive Anna Nicole through with these PETA people. You know they actually have made threats on Ted Nugent's life (well, I should say some zealots who loves animals, not necessarily associated with PETA). How the hell does that make sense? "Hey, we honor all forms of life, from man down to animal, but if you don't agree with us we'll kill your a$$...."
Then there are the revisionists that like to claim that our anscestors were solely herbivores...I'm not saying that veggies weren't consumed in-mass back then, but you're a complete nutcase if you think meat wasn't consumed and used from the skin down to the bones and tendons...

Hey, good to see you made it. I figured once you read the thread title and seen my name you'd figure "what's he starting now?"
I didn't do to bad did I? I kind of sugar coated the first post. Ok well I didn't (LOL)
Yes, some of these people in PETA are just plain nuts. Kind of like that group, not sure of the name, but the ones that burn down new construction and destroy things in the name of mother earth.
I look at them nut cases and the nut cases in PETA as terriost groups. I mean like Dennis said, by the way did you see that Dennis showed up and basically completely agreed with me
, anyway like Dennis and I agree its perfectly fine to demostrate as long as its peaceful and not being destructive. If people want to try and change the law, again I say fine, but if the law don't get changed then they (the nutcases) should just SHUT UP and move on perhaps smoke some of mother earths natural plants and be happy.
I think if more people in PETA drank milk they would feel much better. A good steak might help as well.

01, quit gloating.
Fact is, you agree with ME!!!! LOL...
In regards to testing, I am not totally against animal testing. After all, I do have a degree in Animal Science from the university that's been at the forefront in cloning. In many cases, we have to actually study the animals and the effects on them. How else would you learn how to manipulate diet and environment to increase production in animals?
However, there are times when it just gets stupid and ridiculous. For instance, it doesn't take much IQ to realize that if you increase the concentration of a certain irritant, it will harm animals. Even so, animals have been used so often, that there's a ton of data out there and it doesn't take much brain power to use that data instead of doing the experiments over again and again and again.
In simple terms, I find PETA's view too far to the right, especially when we come to things like raising animals for parts to transplant into humans. Pig heart valves, for instance. I also differ from PETA when it comes to research that could actually help cure human disease.
Seems like we all agree on one point. PETA is allowed their views, but they are not allowed to present their views in such disruptive and destructive (sneaking up on somebody and dumping paint on them because they're wearing furs) ways.
