Royal Purple is a good quality oil product. It is up there with Redline, Mobil 1, Amsoil to name a few. I myself use Valvoline Durablend 5w-30 in my truck. I do use Royal Purple for the rear-end and my manual transmission.

The only way I'd use Royal Purple in my truck is if a sponsor paid for it. That stuff is just too expensive for me to even think about.

Dennis:

You may have a point if your talking motor oil and Royal Purple. I found the Royal Purple Max ATF trans fluid for $7.36 per qt. and the 75W-140 gear oil for $7.36 per qt. very reasonable compared to other good quality oils.

I bought mine through northernautoparts.com

I just changed my differential gear oil last week for the first time at 45,000 miles and I put in about 3 new quarts of Royal purple. I figured for the few times it gets changed and for all the trouble of pulling the cover I'd put the good stuff in. It was about $8 quart at NAPA.
