Question Blue Oval on steeringwheel

Looks great, my 1999'er doesn't have one but I'd like to have one.
There were 13 F-150's 2002 Model Lariat 4x4 on the lot here.
Some had the Blue Oval others didn't have one.
Why is that?

Do all 2003 F150's have this Blue Oval on the steering wheel?

Do you have one?

All European Ford's have this BlueOval on the steeringwheel, why not all Ford Trucks?
It just looks great.

Not shure. I like it though. However, when you wreck and your hands are in a certain postition, your fore arm could have a nice oval indented. I had a friend that wrecked her truck, and you could see the oval on her arm for a good while.

I can offer some light on this post here, in Kansas City back in the Spring when we balanced out the production run of 2002 Harley trucks, it just happened one night once Ford had run out of airbags with the oval stamped in the material. Next thing you know, all the early HD guys were asking why the end of the production run got the new, updated blue oval and all. It seems Ford used up the remaining inventory, and simply switched over. These are held in place using 4 metal tabs that simply slip thru the airbag cover and hold the emblem in place.

It is the lighted switch for the rear foglight.
We need to have one by law.
