I agree 100%. It's one of the first DVD's I ever bought, and I can never seem to change the channel when I come across it on TBS. (which is usually weekly)

I have to admit....I never wanted to watch that movie because I thought that the name was stupid. After I saw it, I couldn't believe what a good movie it really was! I still think they should have called it something else, though. Also...I would have liked to see it go-on another half hour or so to see more about how they were living-out their lives. It was well-written and well-acted.

I have the same problem , the movie never gets old. I always watch it on TV, even when it starts at like 2am LOL

Great movie!! Just a little bit of trivia for you all, in case you didn't know, that movie is based on a novella by Stephen King originally titled "Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption." Many of you probably already knew that, but being a HUGE Stephen King fan, I had to chime in.

There are several great movies out there that are based on his stories: Stand by me, The Green Mile, Shawshank Redemption, Dolores Claiborne, Hearts in Atlantis just to name a few.

I think his non-horror stuff is better than the horror, well maybe not

I always cringe at that one particular scene when he escapes. Ugh! I can't imagine slithering through a sewer pipe.

IMO, one of the only movies to come along that was equal to, or possibly better than the book. I read the original story a few years before the movie came out, and was thinking it could never live up. Movies hardly ever do, you know. But this one did, and has also become one of my top 5 movies I have ever seen. The look on the wardens face when the rock goes through the poster and falls to the ground below....."What you say there fussy britches", LOL!,,,,98

Webmaster,

We are twins LOL, It's funny, I never get tired of watching it.

Some of my favorites:

-When Andy and others get off the bus to enter Shawshank there is a black guy who yells we are reeling them in while he is mimicking a fishing rod.

-It's fat a** by a nose, {when the guy wins the bet on who will break down first.}

-I believe in two things. Discipline and the Bible.Here,you'llreceive both. (holds up a Bible)
Put your faith in the Lord. Your *** belongs to me. Welcome to
Shawshank.

I could spend hours writing more, LOL

I knew i wasn't alone!!
