Vehicle Storage Question

Have heard of various methods of keeping varmints out of your vehicle during winter storage:

Mothballs (won't they make a horrible smell if left in the vehicle?)
Fabric softener sheets
A couple lumps of charcoal.

Anyone comment on this or suggest others?

Thanks.

The easiest thing to do is to bait the area with warfarin based rodenticide. Provide water sources away from the area for the rodents to drink after eating the bait. The rodents will drop soon after drinking the water.

You could try one or two of those ultrasonic pest control things, if you have a source of electricity available. Put one in the passenger compartment and another in the engine bay. The actually work. I was in a pizza joint once and the mice in the place were going nuts.

I had 10 glue traps all around my truck. I got 13 mice over the winter. In the spring i pulled apart the blower motor, air box, and door panels and didn't find a single nest.
