Thumbs up Sold my truck this morning

Yes I sold my truck. I needed something more economical for college since I live about hr away from it. It had the 300 6 in it but the mileage still wasn't all that great. I kept it in tune and I'm not really a leadfoot. Well I went to go get the mail this morning and sure enough here comes this 3/4 older Dodge truck pulls into my driveway and wants to know about my truck. I showed him the interior, engine, and just a general lookover of the truck. He asked the usual, how much you want?, does it run good,? yada yada yada. So we talked about it for good 1/2 hr and decided to take it for alittle test run. Meantime, I'm checking out this guys truck. Not lifted or anyting but had a turbo pack muffler on it with a y pipe behind that, really good shape. My guess it was an 92?? Anyway, he comes back about 20 mins later and says here ya go. He only went home to get his check to pay me, LOL! I said ok, ty very much! I was asking $3500 o.b.o for it and sure enough, got all of it too So his wife and him drove down to the BMV and got the title transfered. I"m happy I sold it FINALLY!!!!!!! but I will miss it though, damn good truck too. I'm thinking of getting a like a 92-93??? Ford Ranger or something along those lines. If I run across a chevy S-10 that truly is a steal, don't kill me!!!! lol! I will try to avoid if at all possible. I really want a manual though, I never owned a manual car and I think it would be kinda cool to get a small p/u with a manual, like a 4 or 5spd maybe??? Despite I don;t know how to drive one, I can learn. Meantime, I'll still keep posting pics of my baby till I get something new.

I had a 94' Ranger with the 2.3l 4 cyl. and it had a 5-speed. That was one of the best and toughest trucks I've owned. It also got great mpg. I sold it a few years ago for $3500. So I'd look for a 94' or a 95' Ranger if I were you. You might even run across a 96' for that much if you look hard enough. If you don't know how to drive a standard don't worry. These trucks are very easy to learn on. Happy shopping and good luck!

I had the same truck. I made around 170,000 miles in less than 3 years and can't recall it needing anything other than regular maintenace.

I saw in your sig that you have the 40 series flows installed. I was wondering about how they would sound on a V6. I want to add something similar. I have heard that the 50 series are better for V6s then the 40s. Do you like the way the 40s sound? Is it a deep tone? Can you easily tell that its a V6 from the sound? Thanks.

I've never heard the 50 series flows, but I can tell you this. The original 40 series sounds bad azz on my truck. Not quite like a big block v8, but like a big block v6. I can say that my exhaust does not by any means sound like a swarm of bumble bees or a weedeater. It just has a rumbly performance sound to it. And if you go with dual exhaust, get a single in/dual out muffler and use 2.25" diameter pipe out the back or the sides. Whichever you prefer. Be sure to use 2.25" pipe or you will lose some low-end torque. Oh, about the sound. At idle , my truck sounds like a v8. But when you rev on it, it gets just a tad bit high-pitched which is a characteristic of the 40 series flow. But going down the road, it sounds mellow. And at highway speeds, you can barely hear the drone. It's there, but you can barely hear it. So it's not annoying. If I had to do it over again, I would get the 50 series delta flow. I hear it keeps the torque up and does'nt get as high pitched as the 40.

Thumbs up

Tks guys,

I was crusing the lots today and found a 95 Ranger XLT. It is Extended cab. 2.3L 4 banger, 5 spd, and short bed. 70K, maroon/silver, very nice shape too. They want $4995 for it. I didn't test drive it or anything but I think this is good truck for me but I will keep looking. No doubt this is something to keep in mind but there are so many millions of rolling iron for sale out that are reasonably priced. If it's one thing America is filty rich in, is veichles, lol!
