2wd shocks question-------->
I've got 50,000 miles on my 98 4.6 and im getting ready to put brake pads on it. I was wondering approx when the shocks will need replacing. What kind should i get? stock? aftermarket? What kind will give a better ride then stock?
any tips or info appreciated. thanks

Your stock shocks were not good to begin with and their original performance was seriously degraded at about 20,000 miles. Virtually anything you put on is going to be better.
A good quality shock such as the Edelbrock IAS will dramatically reduce body roll during cornering. The more sophisticated design allows slower shock shaft movement when cornering and on gently rolling bumps, but permits the shock to respond better than stock to fast shock movements such as potholes and sharp bumps. Good aftermarket shocks will last a lot longer, too.
