Anti-SUV site

Hey you guys,

I posted this over at FTW, y'all gotta check out the threads at this ant-suv site.
It's some good reading.

Here's a cut n paste of my original post:

Someone posted a link here (Can't remember who) about some stupid website promoting people to put "hate stickers" on peoples SUV's.
Anyway, WTF????

There are sites out there actively promoting people to vandelise peoples vehicles by placing stickers on them.

I was having a great day until I read this crap!

Check out this stupid site:
http://idontcareabouttheair.com/bumpers/create.shtml

They also have a message board so you can bash the tree huggers, lol (I posted a heat of the moment message)
http://idontcareabouttheair.com/forum/index.shtml

I catch any tree-lover putting a sticker on my vehicle and its going to be lights out for that fudnucker.....

I hate all the intentional propaganda that it's public opinion that it's "okay" to infringe on SUV owners' rights. Doing anything to anyone else's vehicle would be vandalism, but putting a sticker on a "gas guzzler" is okay because evil people own them. "If I drive a vehicle that gets 35 miles to the gallon, but you drive one that gets 20, you shouldn't have the same rights I do and I should be able to put a sticker on your car and you should be ashamed and leave it on, and you should not kick my a$$ if you see me doing it because I drive a car that gets 35 miles to the gallon."

Reminds me of those stupid a$$ "Truth" commercials. Yeah smoking is bad, yeah everyone knows it, yeah the tobacco companies are out to make a buck, stop making stupid ****ing commercials about it.

good find!

Good find Habibi!

This is some far out stuff! I think they do need the opinions of the people who drive the "gass guzzelers". They expect us to be idiots, so I think we should show them that we are in fact intelligent, informed people. I encourage every one to reply!

I'm all for a good cause. Air quality is a valid issue. The way that they are choosing to air their grievence is, in my opinion, over the top. I care about a lot of things. I feel strongly about many issues plauging our society. I know better that to think that I can change the progerssion of our society. This isn't something that started yesterday or last year. This progression has been taking place for hundreds of years.

I guess I did, at one time, think that I could change the world. Thankfully, I've grown up!

No kidding, I guess the stereotypical image I have of a hybrid car owner is some sort of hemaphrodite couple (i.e. the man and woman are almost indistinguishable, both are skinny, have long hair, and some facial stuble). The kind of hippies that will truck their a$$ out into international waters to interfere with water gaming activities, but of course are jetting themselves out there in a gas-powered Evenrude....

Seriously though, if anyone put anything on my car they would be dealt with accordingly. It's amazing to me the mindset that is emerging nowadays among some people, that there is some sort of "correct" way of thinking about things (and you should suffer if you don't believe). Some people don't want to eat just vegetables, some people don't want to have a picture on their wall of two men kissing with bullwhips up their a$$es, some people want to own guns, some people want to smoke tobacco, and some people want to drive SUVs. We're not murdering anybody, just driving a friggin vehicle...

Some SUV's are just to big for daily drivers.

SUV's are glorified remakes of mini-vans.

Some people should not be behind the wheel of anything larger then a pinto, period!

IMO, SUV's attract the wonderfull "can't drive for ***** crowd" and amplify their oh so great driving skills :
  • Nowadays SUV's are coming with larger rims/smaller tire combo to promote a more 'sporty ride' or being market as a sporty ride, ie mazda - "a mini van raised by a line of sports cars". Most people are not smart enough to realize a higher center of gravity on a larger vehicle will not handle like a 4 door family sedan.
  • SUV's help amplify the "I'm invicible" attitude. People by them and think they are totally safe from harm because it's big. And how many times have you seen them fly down roads during inlcimate weather such as heavy rain or snow. Last time I check 4wd didn't save your @ss from ice. Did I miss the memo that AWD makes you car stick to the road 24/7 during anything? But again that is problem blamed on general stupidy and amplified by SUV's.
  • Blind spots, and SUV's have many of them. And they are big blind spots. Unfortunately, again most drivers won't take the time to learn how to overcome those blindspots. Especially the ones that under 5' and of the female variety.

So there a few a of my arguments on why SUV's are not the best out there because they make bad drivers worse.

But the fact they p!ss tree huggers off somehow make them worth it.

If I caught someone putting a sticker on my truck I would ask the moron if he would like to kiss and hug the tree I am about to hit him with, a nice wooden bat upside his head...

The anti-SUV site has stereotyped all SUV owners, there's no question of this by reading through their posts on the site.
While I enjoy a good debate also, these "off side" radical extremists are impossible to debate with.

You can show them 'proof', and 'facts' to invalidate their claims, but they either skirt around the issue, or out and out lie.
Debating with them is like debating with some religious fanatic who knocks on your door trying to convert you.

Next time some Jehovah's witness knocks on your door, try to tell him why your religion is better, ask him if he's interested in hearing about all the wonderful things about your religion, they will quickly move on to the next house.

These anti-SUV people are exactly the same, they are closed minded, know it all, and refuse to believe anything other than what they preach.

I like the posts in there that say driving an SUV will get you a direct ticket to hell with Satin, hahaha, yeah ok.
If I end up there, it will be for something else, not for driving a gas guzzler.

I'm willing to bet that every single one of us knows someone who 'knows it all' and is impossible to debate with. You guys know who I'm talking about, could be your bro-in-law, your co-worker, we all know someone. For me, it's my extremely opinionated, and judgemental sister-in-law. The type of person who you could point to a blue sky, and they would say it's grey.

The only thing more dangerous than people like this, is when they get organized

I kinda like the sticker about my vehicle being a global warmer and endangering people who drive sensible cars!

If they don't like it, they can stay out from under me!!
