Is this a good price for an F150 XLT?
I've already given the owner a deposit and if all goes well the truck will officially be mine tomorow.
Its a 2000 F150 XLT 4x4 with 57,000 miles and its costing me $15,000. I think thats pretty good. Its got a couple of dings and the rear bumper is dented from a run in with a trash bin.
I couldn't beleive the edmunds.com and KBB prices are around $20,000 for a truck like this in excellent shape. I can spend $1000 on it to make it look new and still be ahead. Thats what finally made me take it. It also has a matching Leer cab and a DVD/TV player. I think 57,000 miles is kind of high but I put a couple of miles on it today and it felt great and it won't be a daily driver so I'm not worried. I just had to have it.
Please tell me you didn't get yours cheaper. I'll feel ripped off!

i picked up my 99 F150 xtra cab 4X4 with 41K, xlt, 6disc changer, leer canopy, bedliner, power drivers seat, for $17,000 and I was told by everyone it was a really good deal... after putting 10,000 miles on it in the last 5 months (lots of work driving) I borrowed some more $$ against it at my credit union.... it booked out at 23,900 (high KBB I think) .... so those books are kinda funny.... but yours sounds like a good deal... is it an extra cab or just standard? I think the extra cabs are worth a couple thousand more.... maybe someone else knows more.... I had to have extended cab for my little boy to sit in back so I never shopped around for the standard cabs at all. Also the size engine an tranny (auto or 5spd) makes a difference.... also check for the 30K service receipts... it runs around $500 at my local Ford dealership (in Portland, OR) and makes a big difference... also by 57K you should be into your second set of tires... what kind are they? I am at the bitter end of my factory Goodyears... the Michelins I am looking at run about $660 for the set..... the small things can sneak up you on these trucks... Likely you are due for the 60K service soon - so plan on that... It seems these trucks need about $500/year between services/tires/??? but I put a lot of miles on so likely your costs will be less.... they are great trucks though... Good luck!!
Its an extended cab 5.4L Triton with an auto. I'll have to fix some dings and stuff but thats ok.
Its good to hear good deals can still be had. Its got a newer set of Toyo all terrain tires and I'm taking it in this week for service. I can't wait to take this thing on a long drive.

Sounds like a decent price...
I got my 1997 F150 XLT w/ almost every option except power leather seats and automatic tranny with 5.4L (may have been other options i was not aware of in 97) with 94k miles for $9,900 from the original owner. The mileage was higher than I wanted but it was a clean solid truck and a nice price tag. Good luck with it if you purchase it and glad to see someone else buying an F150
