Question about ATV tire sizes?

Hey, I know that this is an f150 site, but I am looking for new rear tires for my Quad, and I cant figure out the sizes. My quad currently has: 22x10-9 tires on the rear.

I am pretty sure that the "9" is the rim height. But that is about as sure of the whole thing as I get.

The stock rear tires that are on it currently are tall and skinny. I would like to put a lower profile (shorter) and wider tire on the rear, for better traction.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Kory.

A little more thought in my slow head, and I am thinking that it is the same as a 4x4 tire in inches. Just that it is written a little differently. Could this be true? If this is true then I am sorry I must be retarded.

I would guess 22 tall tire height, 10 wide, and a rim diameter of 9

22 - tire height
10 - width
9 - wheel size

sounds to me like you own a sport quad
if so i would go with a 20x10x9 turf tamer
this would help your top speed and the handling of your quad!

Hey thanks everyone for the input.

JJ-
I like the looks of the turf tamer, but I ride in the mud a lot. They look like once they get muddy they would get pretty slick, is that the case?

Thanks, Kory
