Dove season that is.....my summer is over...no more A/C,s ..well soon any way...loading up tonight with rest of daughters stuff and taking it to Lubbuck in morning(tex.tech.student )..spend quality time saturday night.....then off to Vernon in the morning to meet up with friends and put those itty bitty birds(whom, by the way,have been clocked at more than 60MPH and can turn on a dime )on the endangered list ...any one that comes into the Mc Donalds in Vernon texas at 6:45 A/M sunday and says they saw this post, i'll buy you breakfast...really..6FT. 265# salt and pepper with beard....oh and we'll be gone by 7A/M,so dont be late

 

I used to hunt for Dove. But ever since I found out Noah (in the Bible) sent a Dove out of his Ark to see if there was dry land, I have'nt had the heart to kill one.

that was before the hunt...noone took me up on the breakfast...went out and had our limit of 15 each before 10a/m..went back and deep fried the breasts and had a hell of a lunch.... went down the piese river four wheeling late afternoon...shot a 300# wild boar hog with a buddys AK47...went back the next morning and popped our limits....had a great time

 

LOL, the chinies assault rifle. I've alway's wanted to go wild boar hunting with the Marlin 45-70 guide gun. Does the AK47 shoot kinda like the AR15. I know they all use the same .223 round, but like the Mini 14 feels totally different than the AR15. They make little kits that allow you to shoot 22 rounds through them since the bullet is the same diameter, makes things a little cheaper. LOL

That 300# hog , did it get thru a hole in the fence ? The big ones around here go about 200# . I got my dove limit by 8:30 at the Salton Sea . I would've been there for breakfast if I was in the area . Good to hear about your success . By the way our limit is 10 a day .

thier in a little tighter to the shoulder...but who shots one of those from the shoulder at full auto ....15 here cause they like to fly in groups of 10 around here..plus theyve split the start dates between the zones this year so i,ll be south of dallas on the 15th...itll be like a whole new season P.S. I've pheasent hunt in the sloues north east of the bay area there in cal. when i was at travis...it was the best by far
