Thumbs up Traffic Signals...whoooohoooooo

Sorry guys, but designing and having traffic signals installed to my specifications pays for all my toys. And I like having lots of toys so it isn't going to get any better!

Only all of mine are in SC, so unless your like everyone in Ohio and come here for vacation, you want get to enjoy my handy work!

I got a gripe about these new lights they're putting in. Those damned green LED lights are so freaking bright that at night, they ruin my night vision. I swear, if I had a newspaper at night, I can read it with all the light those green LEDs emit.

When the light goes from red to green, it's like getting hit with a 5 lb sledgehammer in both eyes.

Yeah their bright, but at least you can see them in the daytime

The LEDS serve several purposes. They use less electricity, they last over 5 years which keeps workers out of the road changing bulbs, and they are more visible during daylight hours.

More Pro's than Cons. Just hope that the person seeing the red has the same complaint. Then chances are they are doing what I meant for them to do, be more visible!

Talking

Harley riders must run red lights every day. Instead of braking, you can stop quicker by leaning over the bars and grabbing the front wheel!

We gots strobes on rural red lights, like faster roads with a stop light stuck there. Yall have them in SC? I like em, it's a good idea.

svtoby150, yes we are getting into that habit , as well as at emergency signals(fire stations). We find that because 99% of the time they flash yellow, drivers tend to get used to them. Now, with the strobe LED red's, they certainly get your attention faster.

Dennis, sue all you like, the state has my back! You have to admit, even though they may be bright, they do get your attention better, right? You must be in the upstate as they are retrofitting the most signal heads right now...

Hughie, not sure I understand your post, but if you are one that worries about what other bikers are riding instead of enjoying the brotherhood that all bikers share, then you are missing one of the best parts of the biker experience!

Oh goodie! I think I'll sue to have all the lights replaced with black lights. It would be so '70s Disco.

Seriously, though, there's no question the lights are more visible. I just wish they had some kind of dimming circuit to cut down on the intensity when it's dark.
