Wisconsin/Illinois Off Road Enthusiasts
I am new to the area (Southern Wisconsin) and I was looking for some places to ride a quad or dirt bike around. Lake Geneva has a dirt bike track but if you think I am gonna pay $20 a time to ride they are insane. My girlfriend is new to ATV's so I want a place I can take her and show her the ropes. Thanks for anyone's input on this.
bong recreation area. hwy 94 to exit 142 or hwy 142. shouldn't be too far from you. it is right near the kenosha racine county line. best to go during the week as the weekends get crowded and sometimes they close some of the trails on weekends for dog and horse trials.
they have about 14 miles of trails, mostly flat, and great for beginners. they will make you pay for an annual park pass ($18).
also you can go to monroe, cheese county trails. very flat and very straight but they ride through towns and such, get to meet many other folks out on their quads. be careful here though because they do patrol for the speed limit.
also you can go to black river falls. little bit of a ride north but well worth it from what i've heard. i haven't actually gotten up there myself. otherwise if you get up to the northern part of the state the availability of trails becomes much greater.
