Question about chevy transmission...
I was going to post this in the tranny section but more people read here + its not about a ford tranny. I am in the process of selecting all the parts for my project chevy and am stuck on the transmission. The motor I will have will be making 1000hp on pump gas and close to 1200 on race gas. So I need a transmission(auto) that will hold up to that much power but can still be driven on the street. I did a serch on the internet and was linked to FB Performance. So I went searching and based on what I know, which is not very much, though that this tranny would be the best choice. Now I have a few questions. First: What is a trans brake? I am guessing its something that allows you to have the tranny in gear and allows you to bring up the rpm to launch speed but without actually moving the wheels? Then when you let off the trans brake, the tranny is unlocked and you go(sort of like a line lock for the tranny??)??? Second: What does full manual mean on an auto tranny? I am guessing that it will not shift on its own, basically a manual without a clutch? And third: is this the right choice of tranny for me?
Thanks
