Thumbs up Hello all!

I going to pick up a 2001 Flairside XLT tomorrow, with the 5.4L. It has only 1300 miles but considered used?? It is a 2X4 (yes thats what I wanted), with positrax (or what ever it is called). So am I going to be happy pulling at 4000 Lb trailer behind it?

My other rides are:
2001 Focus ZX3
2001 Zawasaki ZRX 1200R

You'll have no problem at all pulling a mild 4,000. I pull upwards of 8,000 about once every 2 weeks with a non-PI 5.4L with no problem. It's one hell of an engine.

Congrats on the new truck! You will love it. 1300 miles seems low but its still considered used when the car is driven out of the dealership and titled.

BTW, I have access to carfax so if you want me to run you a report just email me, amrant@yahoo.com . I dont think there is a lot known on a 1300 mile vehicle though

Well, that trailer would be easier to tow if it was a 4x2.

A 2x4 would be your Kawasaki ZRX 1200R, with you pushing with both feet while a passenger used one.

You're gonna have to get up to speed with this truck lingo.
The first number is wheels in contact with Earth.
The second number is drive wheels.
4x4 = four wheel drive
4x2 = two wheel drive
2x1 = your Kawasaki ZRX 1200R
1x1 = you doing a wheelie on your Kawasaki ZRX 1200R

(The only time I ever rode a 2x4 was when I was on a softball team)

Thumbs up

I use to work in the "stud mill" making 2X4's, so it's a easy one to say.

Took the truck out for a 100 mile spin and this truck hauls @$$! Sweet, but cornering isn't it's strong point. But I have the ZX3 and my Kaw. for the twisties!

Come on Raoul..... Everbody knows that to qualify as a 1x1 you can only have a single wheel! Only if he removes the front wheel first will the Kawi count!

Bruce.... heed the advice of the others. Before you know it your wallet will be empty but you will be online looking for more mod ideas!
