Curse you for using that word! (winter)

Summer seems to fly by here in New England. The day light hours are rapidly getting shorter. We want to squeeze every bit of summer we can out of the year.

I guess it's inevitable. I just hope winter goes by quickly. Sounds like it hangs around for a while for you folks in the hills!

I HATE SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate the snow - don't mind the cold as much but the snow here in Buffalo is the pits - actually, that's not all that's the pits here if I have to be honest. Don't even mention the economy!
Anyhow, for TexFordD - since you Texans aren't as fortunate as us Yankees, I have made it my life's ambition to share some of what we get here in the way of snow. Don't be surprised when, some "cold" Dallas morning you leave your front door to find a HUGE pile of snow blocking the truck in! I, being as considerate as I am will gladly provide you with a snow shovel & I'll even teach you how to best shovel snow! LOL! BTW - you're not the only 1 from your great state who has expressed a desire to see/experience snow so I started a list - I'll be sure to add you to it & bring a bed full of the white stuff ok? Did I mention I have a long bed? LOL! Oh - did you ever check out my Gallery here? I have pics of last winters storm - the 1 where we had 7 FEET of snow in 5 days, the last 5 FEET falling in just 40 HOURS! Check out the pics & as you can see, we have PLENTY to share!
See you in a couple of months - our winters start in Oct!

Meanwhile in hot as heck Nevada......

it is currently 106 degrees and I am getting cabin fever from being in the house and under the air conditioning vent for the last three months. Even the cactus have had enough. My dogs and I look forward to the long shadows of fall and winter. In the meantime, we will be trying to beat the heat in the mountains of Southern Utah or the odd trip to Flagstaff.

Oh man, I don't want to hear the word snow....I love summer (thanks to A/C) but since my wife and I both have 4WD I don't worry nearly as much when snow does arrive. Since both of us have jobs that are classified as essential personnel we can't stay home just because the weather is bad.

LOL cowlady....

i worked the mississippi (god i spelled it right) river in my youth and fondly remember digging out my El Camino from 8 foot drifts when i lived in southern illinios....when it does snow down here(the 4 hour lasting variety) i,m the one who outlasts the kids, snowmen, heavy waxed cardboard and innertubes...the problem is...it,s like going to six flags...you can go home when you get tired of it

We have snow on the mountains here all year long, but then again I live about 100 miles away from the arctic circle. Since our mountains are always covered with snow up here we determine how close we are to winter by watching which way the geese and other migratory birds are flying in, and the geese are currently headed south so winter is coming.

AH Snow Drift Busting that is one awesome job! SOmebody has to do it. LMAO!!! Just got to love it. Unfortunatly last winter didn't produce much snow here in So. Illinois, but up in Northern Illinois, there was some. I hope this winter will be a better year! <<Fingers crossed>>

Oh, Cowlady, I DO REMEMBER your little snow storm you had LATE last year. lol.. I remember that you just about went MAD with all that snow around, and worrying to death, hopeing you roof didn't collapse! Anyone who hasn't seen the photo's, you NEED to see them. It is really something to see!

I was just in Reno, NV for Hot August Nights. Was about 102º there and on the way home it hit 108º. But, when we finally arrived home, 58º. Its amazing how much temp difference there is between northern nevada and the bay area. Anyway, there is never snow here unfortuneatly, just a lot of rain(which I actually like over any type of weather).
