Thumbs down Signs

Have any of you guys (or girls) seen this movie? I
thought it was one of the worst movies I've ever seen.
It sucked...bad! Anyone here actually like this thing?

I am a fan of M. Night Shyamalan and his first two movies. (The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable) I havn't seen Signs yet. My daughter and her friends have. The vote is split. The male friends liked it, the females didn't. Go figure.

Sucky *** movie. I was so disappointed. All my friends and even the movie ticket guy was like "bad *** movie bro!". So I go in there expecting a decent alien movie, but yes, it blew *** hardcore. There were no jumps or spooks involved, for me that is. Of course women and stupid people were like AHHHHHHHHHHHH OMG AHHHHHHHHHHHH thruought the whole movie. Its like Holy crap grow a brain and you can see all this coming..

It will come out here August 24 th and I definately are going to watch it.

This is really funny, everyone here rated it a bad movie.
The thread on fordtruckworld shows a completely different rating.
It is a great movie.

Maybe something to do with the fact if you are a believer or a disbeliever.
It is a good thing that everyone has a different opinion.
We all would have driven Fords otherwise.

I enjoyed it, my wife thought it was OK. Both of us liked Sixth Sense and Unbreakable better. BTW, some of our friends and family loved it.

A big chunk of the movie is based on religion, so if youre not a religious person, this may not ring your bell. (that was PART of the downfall for me.....)

Truthfully...

it wouldn't have been so bad if it had been at least a little
believeable. Aliens have the ability to travel light years, but
they can't break down a wooden door!!?? Huh?

At the risk of spoiling the show, it was mentioned in the movie that the aliens wanted to do a ground invasion without using advanced weaponry so that we would not panic and go nuclear.

The invaders know we have the capability of turning our planet (and a whole bunch of them) into a radioactive mess at a moments notice, so they chose rules of engagement that would not push us over the edge.

i personally liked it. I havent seen a movie in a while that made me jump(even though there was only 1 or 2 jumps). But, IMO, the part at the end when mel gibson brings the tv into the room and you know what happens with his son and...That kind of ruined it for me. I didnt really want to see the...

hope i didnt give away too much info....

Did anyone esle get the impression that it was kinda like a modern day remake of *War of the Worlds* crossed with a little Independance Day?

J15BIG - I know what you mean, part of me wanted to see, but part didn't. I still enjoyed the ending though.

but they can't break down a wooden door!!??
LOL, I wondered that myself.

Overall, I think the best alien invasion movie was Mars Attacks.

Wife and I liked it a lot.

It is a movie about losing and rediscovering faith. The alien stuff is just window dressing.

Brilliantly done, as usual for M. Knight.
