I think there are a lot of us that would like and answer to that question.
I know that the '03's will basicly be the same, just a few minor changes, nothing to do with appearance. I saw the '03's being built while at the Norfolk rally.
I have heard that '04 will be the year that things change. I believe it's supposed to be a redesign. I can't wait to see what it's going to look like. I would guess it's going to take some time for the new look to grow on us.

I can't wait too...However, I'm worried that it might not be the smartest thing to by the first year of a significantly redesigned auto....I'm fearful I'll be the one that finds out the hood flies into the windshield at 70 mph, or that some crazy a$$ radiator hose configuration ends up spewing hot fluid out the AC vent onto my crotch.....Then I can be like Goldmember....only it would be CheapMetalAlloyMember in my case...

I thought the same thing when I was about to purchase my used 97. I took a chance and have been fairly surpised at the quality, even if it was a early model of the first year of production. Other than normal wear my only complanits are sloppy shifts, door cracks, and bad paint/clear coat.

If the 04 works as well as my 97 I would be glad to have one.

twin supercharged? why would they do something like that, its not very cost effective. ill believe that when i see it! i cant wait to see the new f-150's. if its somewhere between the tonka 350 and the new superduty's, then i think im gonna want one when they come out.

I agree...I'm not a fan of the 97-03 F150 looks but if the 04 model looks like the tonka concept then I'll be getting a new one in '05 thats for sure.
It's hard to see it as a Lightning though...I just keep imaganing(sp?) a lowered super-duty and it doesn't look pretty in my mind.

Well even though we can't see much, it's nice to have something to look forward to.

I think that the "twin supercharger" would be a twin impeller or screw, not two superchargers. I think the DOHC would make a world of difference. I would guess that they will keep the HP numbers under 400 to keep the insurance lower. It's hard to imagine a Super Duty looking Lightning but color keying does a lot for a truck, I think. I was hoping to get another truk in '04, but I might wait for '05. I just hope I can keep my '98 in one piece till then!

What ever F150 I end up getting I hope that Ford will have resolved the issues that many have now. I want to see Ford do good but they need to do good by their customers!

I found this pic somewhere while surfing (can't remember where)
It's supposed to be a photo of the 2004 F150.

Maybe a prototype?
Who knows?

you got that right 98. I saw one a few weeks ago and FUGLY! Hopefully the new ford won't be too big and boxy. They should keep it somewhat sleak for hte 150's.

LOL! Most Chevy owners don't like it either.
Looks like when the Pontiac Asstek didn't sell, they just moved the designer to Chevrolet to design the Avalanche and 03 Silverado.

It is hard to picture what the L might look like as 04 or 05 model. I'm sure with some color keyed parts and few creative minds with a few parts they will look just right.

I probably be disowned for this comment but the 03 Cheby's do not look totally scary.
