I think it was 1998, the last year they were sold in the US. It carries on as it was in Japan.

But if you want one with the engine that’s rated for 1200 HP (I think) Like the one in the Fast and the Furious. They stopped making those in 95.

Are you serious? The 95 and earlier motors will hold 1200Hp stock, that's insane. Correct me if I'm wrong but even a well used one still goes for a pretty decent price. A friends mother has I think a 93 Supra that needs a new engine but was told it was one heck of a car when it was running.
Which ones the better deal for the money and which can you find cheaper a Supra or a 3000gt? I would like to eventually own one, someday.

Well the only good 3000gt is the VR4. It was AWD and had a twin turbo. The SL and the regular 3kgt was the slowest thing to hit the road. It was as fast as a family sedan. 222hp in the earlier versions felt like 100 because the car was so heavy and FWD. The VR4 is a great car from what I hear to drive but it is uncomfortable to sit in if you are tall, very expensive to fix, and not very dependable. Thats what I have heard from a few owners. The 3.0 that powers these things isnt very good. I see tons of 3000gts/stealths blowing smoke out of the exhaust on the streets as well. Thats not a good sign. Although a 3000gt can be found cheaper then a Supra, I would have to say that the supra is a better choice. It is RWD and has a powerful turbo. Although these cars can be rather expensive. I have seen some 94s go for as much as $22,000 . I think that you should consider an RX7 as well because it was also just as powerful and fast.

I was out in arizona for spring break and my brother-in-law who is an avid car enthusiast and motorcycle dealer has 2 friends who bought 95' (I think) supras. From what I remember one of them has his engine just below 900 HP with all the mods that he has done. I'm not sure if my brother-in-law was serious but those engines are damn good and I would not be surprised if they could be supped up to 1200 HP. Of cource thats fiddlin with death. And yes they can go for some extreme cash. My brother-in-law is in the market for one ever since a guy in a truck blowed over his Porche at a stop light. When I looked at them in car trader they were all around 20,000-30,000.

They will hold about 700rwhp through stock internals. You can find a good one for about 18grand.

I worked at a Toyota dealership in 1993 when the new Supra came out. The twin turbo was awesome, I was only allowed to drive them to the gas station to fill them up. It was one of the best miles I ever drove.

Ok Supra's rule over 3000gt's, what about RX7's. I had a kid in the store the other day with a Gen II that really liked his. I know they'll a rotary engine and really like to rev from what I hear. I bet it's hard and more expensive to find parts for.
Dollar for dollar which one has the most potential (any ricer type car)?
I'll be the first to admit I know very little about "ricer" tech and mechanics. What's the best mods to do to one? Is sort of a ground up build up where you need to replace or upgrade lots of things?

Just trying to understand the latest craze.
