oil filter cross reference

this is probably the wrong forum all together for this question, but I'm here and I'm logged in so I'll ask it anyway.

I'm trying to find out what oil filter is used on a 63 ford 4000 tractor 4cyl gas
when I bought it, it had on a motorvator (by purolator) MP-1, I don't know if this is the right filter for it or not. Just wondering if anyone out there knew anything about this?

thanks

I'm not exactly sure, what are the diamentions of the filter. Diffrent companies usually use similer systems to identify their products. I would compare it with an FL1A and see how close they are. Did it look like it was leaking or anything? How did it feel unscrewing, were the threads holding well?? Just compare and see what you come up with.

thanks for the help, it is the same as the fl-1. I did some comparison last night. I should have know, ford makes it pretty simple by sticking with the same filter for years and years.
