25,000 and will it ever stop?

I am late on this and have not seen anyone else posting the milestone that Steve and all of us have reached.

25.000 signed in members, most of whom post and learn and share information about their Ford vehicles whether they be "strictly F150 or somewhere in the ballpark".

One hell of a job in my opinion.

I think it was just hitting 1000 back in May of 99 when I registered. It may have been less than that. There was no Lightning forum and General Discussion only got a few responses a week. I also remember the first ever door crack thread started a couple of weeks after I joined. People were frantic about them back then.

A few other milestones I remember:

"DantheMan"
piston slap and FQR engine threads for two straight years
the rise of the Lightning
Thursday 9pm chat
"The Great Chapter Debate"

Before 'dantheman' there was dano.
Had a bad time with his F150, traded it for a Silverado, came back and gave us all 'what for'.

Truth is, I think we only have about 97 registered users. The rest are dano aliases.

Talking

What is this, the old folks thread?
I've never seen so many 1998s and 1999s since, well since 1998 and 1999.

Evening all:

Raoul, you strike a real chord.

Remember:

MRBBQMAN
ASDEMAN
Dunbarton
Blacklight
Triton46
PFA
JOEL.LIGHTNING
WYLDMAN (Boy do I miss him)

These were just some members that are on stuff I printed off that helped me a whole lot. So, no offense to those I skipped.

One of the most fun things I remember about this board was the "Member, Member" thread of two or so years ago. A real trip for us 50/60 plus members.

By Golly, when I have time in the next week or so I am going to start another one.

Member, member when Passive Restraint Systems consisted of a plastic rope around the seat and a circular part that you put around the kid?

Member, member when we all had drum brakes with those really neat grey lining sets that were so easy to install? Member now the number of companies that are filing for bankruptcy because of the lawsuits based on the use of asbestos in those neat lining sets?

OK, so I am cheating a bit. Member, member when the first 4 speed trannie was introduced? And on the floor at that!!

I gotta go eat dinner.
Bill
