2001 vs 2003 Should I Trade?

What is your opinion? The dealer says I could get almost exactly what I paid for it on a trade. I have had it two years. It has 25,000 miles and is like new, but are the new ones any better?

I think that your dealer is trying to BS you telling you that you can get exactly what you paid for it. If it sounds to good to be true it usually is. Ask him what he will offer you for your truck. What they do is they make you want the new truck and then there is no turning back.

If he is offering what you paid for it go ahead and trade it in. But from what I hear a redesign for the F150 will be here soon so you might as well wait till then.

My vote is to save your money and get a redesigned 2004. This will be a major redesign, not just a facelift with a new bumper (as in 99 redesign).

My 98 needs replacing, but I will wait until the '04's are out.

OR.......

The apparent plan that I hear is that the F150 "classic" will be sold for a year concurrent with the redesigned 04. Just like they kept making 96's for a year when the 97's were introduced.

Expect the 2003 1/2 "classic" to be super discounted and probably cheaper than a 2003 is sold for now (just like they did in 96)

Thank you for your opinions. I will hang on to it for a while yet. My concern was how much the value would drop with the new design. I think it has a great value now because there are not a lot of used ones yet and the only other full size choice is the Avalanche. [Easy choice] When more SCrews come off lease it may drop like a rock.
