Thumbs down Discriminating drivers trying to kill me

I have noticed now that I have the Tundra, about twice a week I run across some import brand truck ****. It it ususally some redneck in an older model Ford or Chevy truck that cuts me off or something dumb. The funny part is that I can floor it and be around them or way ahead of them before they have time to think about it. just yesterday some idiot did this in an early 80's F-100. He was behind me and floored it just to go around me. As soon as he merged in front of me I nailed the Tundra and flew right around him like he was standing still. Then I got in front of him and would not let him around. Every time he thought about speeding up I would easily put another car length in front of him.

What's up with these retards? I've never had a problem with something that could truly blow me away such as a Lightning. It is always late 70's early 80's Fords and Chevys. Idiots!

The two most amazing things about the Tundra. The engine is absolute power all the way to 5500 rpm. And the AC is amazing, the air comes out of the vents at 42 degrees and goes in to the return under the dash at 79 degrees. that is a 37 degree drop. This is in the middle of the day when the heat index outside is 100 plus for the last few days.

I am sorry to bore you guys with tundra talk but I am overwhelmingly satisfied.

Funny, I have found the complete opposite.

I really have yet to meet or run into a rude import hater. Now there is the friendly ribbing back and forth but nothing really rude.

The funniest thing I got when I got my Tundra was while washing it I had an old F150 in full Redneck trim pull up to me as I was washing my truck. The driver was an obvious good ole' boy from way back. I happen to live in Ford country and was thinking, here it comes. This is where I get the what kinda of a piece of crap is that speech....well this is what the good ole' boy did.

He gets out of his truck, comes up to me and asks if I like my truck. I say yes. He says bet it gets up and goes huh? I say yes. He says it's pretty nice lookin' too. I say thanks and return the compliment about his truck.

Well after doing the 360 degree walk around he proceeds to say and I quote....."Well what can ya say, those damn pie faces really know how to build a vehicle."

I was almost in tears laughing. Mind you I am not racist in any way. I don't agree with him calling anybody pieface and I am just quoting him because it was so funny to hear this from such a good ole' boy in the heart of Ford country.

"every time he tried to pass, I floored it and wouldn't let him around?" Sounds to me like your neck is as red as anybody's. I think you may be the one looking for trouble here, not the good ole boys.

Is it just me??? I know the Tundra is a copy, or a poor try to copy a Ford truck, but now all these Tundra owners come to F150online. This is amazing, First Tundra is pretending to be a Ford, then the Tundra owners are pretending to be Ford owners. sounds like Tundra's and their owners have issues

All in fun

Which retards, the ones you refer to in the post, or the ones that plays rolling road block.
IMHO not real smart playing games like that, and trying to prove that your truck is faster then the guy that just passed you.

I seem to recall a post where a girl died in a traffic accident playing games like this ( the your not getting in front of me trick ).

Do what you will, if I had passed you and you passed me back to prove a point, I'd just drop back 5 mph and let you go along your way.
I don't drive like grandma by any means, but I learned alot driving in Europe for a few months. They are polite to each other and don't play games in traffic, and guess what traffic moves at rush hour unless there is a large accident on the autobahn. I only saw 1 accident in 10 months, overturned bus, closed the A-5 by Frankfurt for 75 min so they could fly the injured out.

Seacrow, glad to hear your liking the Tundra. That 4.7 sounds nice, I figured it could pack a punch.
Yea, I guess that some brand loyalists think that just because their truck is "American made" it can overtake all the "import" trucks. Well it's the 21st century here. Toyota has made a truck that competes well in the light truck market. It's just too bad if people don't want to accept that.

Now can you say that you might not have done the same thing when you had the F150 (when it was running good. It did run good at some point didn't it?).

To all. It's bad when we lose one of the F150 family. Especially when it's to the F150's nemesis. Fact is if Ford had built a quality truck and/or been on the side of the customer, this guy would probably still be driving his F150. We do what we have to do. We may not "like" the Tundra but it's hard to deny that it is a quality vehicle in it's class. I will be buying Fords but I will give the Tundra the respect it deserves.

Time for some TURD Decals right seacrow!

Anyways, I believe that there is no way that you can sell a ford and buy a turd so Iam expecting some pictures when you get your new F150.

I did a lot of thinking about this whole thing. I may have just taken these drivers the wrong way. I recall this happening at times with the F-150 and any other cars on the road. It may just be a coincidence. Many people do ask me how I like it and if it is fast and give me compliments. I may be wrong.

Otherwise, I am not a redneck and I would have my F-150 if Ford wasn't such a big bunch of A$$holes. I already have TURD decals. And my ultimate dream truck is still a Lariat SuperCrew 4X4 in black and gold.

Hey seacrow... it happens to the best of us man... I get cut off all the time; some days to the point that I search the front of my truck for the "cut me off" sign. All the best, man.

Exclamation WHAT ?? Why did you not buy it then!!??

Seacrow, I also had a bad 99 F150 which ford gave me a complete refund on. I bought a similar 2002 F150. If you wanted a Supercrew so bad why did you not buy it???. You got a buyback as I did. I think the "toys" are good trucks as well, but not in the same size class as the 150's are. Your description of your driving styles is childish as well as dangerous as hell for other drivers on the road. THINK ABOUT IT BEFORE YOU KILL SOME INNOCENT CHILD!!??GO OVER TO SOME TOY SITE--AND YOU WILL FIND SEVERAL OTHER TOY LOVERS OVER THERE TO HELP -- YOU TO RATIONALIZE YOUR PURCHASE AS DO WE 150 LOVERS HERE!!

seacrow,

The talk of your new Tundra does not bother me, at all. I think Toyota builds a fine vehicle. My wife drives a Camry wagon we bought used in 1994 and it is, without a doubt, the best vehicle I've ever bought used. We bought it for the quality, and have never been disappointed. If I had seen a 4-door Tundra before I bought my Ford, I would probably be on another board now.

My beef is with your calling people "redneck" that aren't doing the same stupid sh!$ that you are. Maybe they are, but why keep the sh!$ turning? If you passed me back after I passed you, I would be laughing too hard to try to pass again. I would think you are either a jerk looking for a fight, a young kid that doesn't know better, or a drunk. I would give you the road in every scenario. The cargo I carry is way too precious to let an idiot like you **** me off into getting into a truck jerk-off with you. You say your neck is not red, I don't believe you. It's got nothing to do with the ship, the captain sounds like a first-class as#ho&*, to me. I'm done, Rich.

Markmizzou, I can't deal with the Ford dealerships around here anymore. They are all owned by the same mega company now and they are all really really bad. I decided to take my chances on a brand that statistically will not require a trip to the service department. So I bought a tundra, not realizing at the time how happy I would be with it. A Supercrew is probably the best looking truck ever.

Did I mention kids being in the vehicles that passed me? Once again, they were late 70's early 80's Chevy or Ford trucks. They were never any kids involved and never any other vehicles close to me. That was what surprised me is that they would pass for no apparent reason other than just to pass and be right in front of me. This also happened on a three lane road so it wasn't like I was playing chicken on a twisty two lane.

I was on a fire department for two years, I saw many tragic things. However, here in Florida at least, every person I know including other firefighters have had problems in traffic like this before.

I also mentioned that in hindsight, this could have been something that has happened plenty of times before that I never noticed in the F-150. What I did was pretty stupid and childish. I only responded to one incident as I ignored all of the others. I also thought it was strange that it was older Chevy and Ford drivers doing this. I won't do it again even if they run me off the road.
