Body style change

I was just wondering when the body style is going to change & when the diesel is going to be available for the F-150s. I am trying to figure out if I want to go ahead & get a new truck or just wait until the new body style comes out. Thanks

I dotn believe that there is a definate answer to your question. I think that there should be a change for 2005 though. I havent seen any spy photos anywhere.

Look for it to come out about this time next summer as an 04 model. Kind of like how the current design came out mid 96 as a 97 model. Latest word that I have heard is that the diesel is delayed until 2007. Problems with emissions regulations I guess...damn tree huggers!

The 24 valve 5.4 will be out by next year though.

Oh...one more thing. The next F-150 will look more like the Super Duty and will get styling cues from the Tonka concept truck.

According to Blueovalnews.com They start building the next truck June 1, 2003 as a 2004 model. Usually Ford holds back the first 2-3 months production so all dealers can get a couple so I expect them to hit the dealers at the earliest by Sept 2003. Proably later as Ford holds back the first off the line to test for any possible quality issues. They did this with the Expedition. They can't afford any more big recalls on their new intros... So with this in mind it may be more like October before we see them. They will have the 3V 5.4L and it looks like @ 305 HP. According to the latest Car & driver, it looks like the Expedition needs those ponies now and not a year from now.

BTW, Nissan announced today that their Full-size truck and full-size SUV will hit the dealers in the Fall of 2003. Looks like a good time to wait for a new truck!!! Sounds like their base V8 will be @ 300 hp and they debut a larger V8 with even more!!! Also some time next year Dodge will bring the HEMI to the light trucks. In the 2500/3500 form it has @ 345 Hp! The HP wars are about to begin once again. I love it!
