Sure why not? It's dealing with business right? I mean I need my truck in good working order to get here right? If I can't make it in due to a problem with the truck then some things won't get done right? So not like I am screwing off and playing games right?

All good aguments in case I get caught

Phew! I thought it was just me. I feel so relieved that there are others. I am so bad I even check on my laptop if I have an internet connection at a day long deposition.

Not that the bosses don't know how truck obsessed I now am, but I put my gallery as the firm news/home page on our calendering program. Tee Hee Hee.

I ALWAYS point my monitor in a direction so no one can sneak up behind me.

I use to work at a place where I sat behind a computer for 8 hrs a day getting paid $15 an HR and with a T1 connection and spent countless hours at work playing on the net. It was before I found this site or I would have been here. They always told us that they tracked internet usage and could/would fire you. While they may have tracked it I never was really confronted by anyone about it. One team lead did rat me out that she thought I was surfing the net but it was just an accusation (sp) and didn't matter, I was told I just had to be sneakier at it. In fact my first team lead spent more time on the phone and playing on the net than anyone else. I had the main boss walk up on me once and I was scared to death I was gonna get fired, he never said a word. I now realize everyone in that place surfed the net and no one really cared as long as you got some work done and you wasn't doing something wrong like **** or something illegal. In fact when we were downsized and I was transferred to AR I spent the last three months before my layoff on the net and left way early everyday. Man I wish I had that job back.

This whole thing you wrote totaly explains my job...including the pay, I got ratted out once but it proven, and my boss walked up w/out my seeing her.
It's frustrating when I get home and have to wait for pictures and crap to load on my 56k, I like my works T1!
