Happy Birthday America
HAPPY BIRTHDAY USA.
As I look out the window, I see multitudes of objects blowing up in the air and I think, "how many of the people who are lighting these fireworks realize what they are celebrating?...."
America is, and always has been, the best. Many hundreds and thousands of people have given their all to make this land in which we live the best.
While you're out there lighting up the sky with pyrotechnics, remember this.... remember what you're celebrating and all of those who gave everything to make it what it is today.

I can't believe I missed this post! I'm a little laet but better late then never!
I agree - many, if not most people look at this holiday simply as a day to be off work, party & drink & over indulge. The meaning has become lost over the years & that is a shame.
I hope everyone had a safe, enjoyable & meaningful 4th. For those who died to gain our independence & to preserve it I hope they rest peacefully. To those still fighting to safeguard it - God Bless. To the rest of us - let's not forget what today really means & let's value what we have & appreciate our homeland, like other countries do.
