Hey Malibu,

I haven't posted to bmwm5.com, but maybe I should. I think I posted some FAQ stuff a long time ago, but it's been a while. Perhaps you can post for me if you're a regular there.

Thanks for the compliments on the website. That game you sent looks tight - hope it's available here soon.

Here's a NICE *FREE* racing sim too:

i could do that..

about auto modellista... its cool because its a little different. the ANIME style is going to become popular.. mostly cause it gets away with looking real, while being a piece of art- basically.

gran turismo is a realistic simulator.. when things do not look real you say "that looks crappy".. (for example dust or smoke in GT3)

i think auto modellista will eliminate that. it is not a game that is trying to duplicate real life (entirely!).. so yea. if that makes any sense

also.. maybe you can help me out. i have adobe photoshop 6.0 (complete edition).. can i make animated GIFs? like something similar to that L wheel/exhaust pipe pic you have in your sig?
i also have image ready 3.0.. which uhhmm, i have no idea what it does.

thanks

wow, I am amazed. I have been stoked about playing my Need For Speed: Porsche Unleased game since I got it with my new dell a couple months ago. I love it, although I was upset about not being able to pull the car cover off of the 959 and the GT1.

I haven't trying your download yet but will. I'm not to swift with the computer and I hope it's not to hard for an average moron like me to do.

Will these cars work with my version of this game?

Well thanks in advance

Malibu, I agree - Auto Modellista strikes a nice compromise between the high-poly ultra-realistic modeling, and the lighter cartoon style. It's not trying to be something it's not (real), and should be just as fun.

You can make animated GIFs with PS6 and IR3. I would do it this way:

1) Take your original image in PS6, and copy the layers several times for as many animation frames as you want (i.e. 7 layers for 7 frames).

2) Adjust each layer to simulate the animation you are looking for (incrementally add smoke, turn a wheel, etc.)

2) Save your file in PS6, and then open it in IR3.

3) At the bottom of IR3's interface, you should see a toolbar/panel with tabs titled "Animation, Rollover, Image Map, and Slice." If you don't see that tool panel, open it by going to your "Window" menu and click on "Show Animation."

4) You will see one frame of your image in the first panel of the "Animations" tab.

5) Click on the "Duplicate current frame" button on the bottom of the "Animation" panel (the button is next to the trashcan button). Add 6 more frames (for a total of 7 if you have 7 layers in your image).

6) Now go to the Layers panel on the right side of the screen and turn off every layer in the first frame except the one you want to appear first in the animation sequence. (You "hide" or turn off each layer by clicking on the eyeball icon next to each layer).

7) Repeat step 6 for the other 6 frames, making sure the only layer visible in each frame is the one you want to show for the next subsequent step in the animation. For frame 3, you probably want layer 3 to show up, and all the others to be hidden, etc.

8) Next specify how fast you want your animation to play by clicking on the bottom of the first frame in your "Animation" panel - it should be 0 sec or 1 sec by default I think. Change it to whatever you want, but make sure you change all 7 frames too, unless you want certain frames to linger longer than others in the animation.

9) Beneath the time interval setting, you can also set your loop interval (play once, loop forever, etc.)

10) Once you have played with these settings, you can hit the "Play" (triangle-shape) button to preview your animation. Adjust your settings if you don't like what you see. You can also preview the image in your browser by going to the "File" menu and selecting the "Preview In >" option.

11) When you're satisfied and think you're done, then go to the "File" menu and pick "Save optimized as" and make sure it's set on GIF.

12) You're done!

Petrol, unfortunately you cannot import my cars into NFS: Porsche Unleashed (yet). No one has been able to crack the code to be able to modify and import our own car models (we can only change minor things like paint scheme). My cars will work in NFS: High Stakes.

But, here's what you can do to get the 959 and other special cars in NFS: Porsche Unleashed. There are certain player names you can enter when you start the game which will "unlock" the special cars so you can pick them to race. Go here for the exact details:

BMW,

i sent the GIF file as an attachment to your admin e-mail, at GearFX.com

for fun.

PS.. off the top of your head .. do you know which filters, or what the procedure is to create an "auto modellista" style image on photoshop 6?

that would be tight, if it was possible
