i dont have any pics, but i have an HPI nitro RS4. i took out the os .12 and put in a 1.17hp picco trinnity .15 w/ picco headder and picco tuned exhaust. it has a two speed tranny and a ton of graphite parts. counter-sunk chassis, adjustable shocks, full ball bearing kit and a bunch of other goodies that i cant remember right now. i have about $2500 invested into it right now and have had it clocked at over 65 mph! ill get some pics soon.

Any problems with the wife about spending so much money on it?
Hehe, mine is always on my a$$ about the T-MAXX or the Lightning. Between the two hobbies, Ive never had so much fun being broke! LOL!

i started befor i met the wife! it is belt driven all wheel drive. i can hit the throttle and turn the wheels and it will stay in one place and spin in perfect circles. the only problem is that it has so much power that i go through belts quite regularly. i am also unable to run it on my street. i have to take it to this parking lot at a park during the day when there are no cars or to this 1/4 mile r/c track we have here. kind of a pain in the azz. but it is a lot of fun!

I used to race locally, but I've been too busy lately. I still have a Traxxas Nitro 4-Tec 1/10 scale touring car (.15 engine), an OFNA 1/8 scale touring car (.21 engine), and a Traxxas 1/6 scale Monster Buggy (23 cc, Zenoah engine). All are stock, but they're still pretty fast! The 4Tec has a 2 speed tranny, and is capaable of 50+ mph! The Monster Buggy is a bruiser; it weighs 25 pounds, but still goes ~40 mph...it can break a leg if you're not careful. I had fun racing (and beating, most of the time ) T-maxxes and E-maxxes. I wanted to do 'tug of wars' with the other buggies, but no one wanted to play that game

The cars that impressed me the most were the Serpent All Wheel Drive wedge bodied 1/10 touring cars...they accelerate like mad, and handle like theyre on rails. I was gonna get one, but I've kinda put RC on the backburner for now (workin' on getting the 502 hp Boss Hoss cruiser bike in the stable). Racing these little cars gets expensive. I could easily chew up a set of tires and burn a bunch of nitro in a weekend of racing. Then you have to buy replacement parts and stuff.

Why do we love expensive hobbies so much?

I raced paved oval for roughly 7 years w/ my RC10LSO. It is a hobby that I miss very much.

I'm into R/C, but not cars. Turbine powered jets are my vice. I love the smell of Jet A in the morning!

Ive got a nitro RS4 and a TA RC10GT Factory Team. Both are stock except for a few parts that I broke and bought better replacements. The RS4 i bought RTR and have had many problems with. The RC10 I built has had only minor problems.

What all was involved in the motor conversion??

You can either do the extended chassis(what i recommend as it extends your width also soo you dont roll it over as much.

Or you can buy the kit to 'shim' a .21 in the stock spot. Cost you aroudn 500$ for the upgrade with all the parts and motor. I did it to one of my 'maxxs' and just the .16 megatech to the other one.

The megatech one is all plastic RPM parts to make it lighter and faster, whereas the big dog is all alum and has a .21 to push it around (or wheelie depending on how good the tires stick)

Just try to keep um outta the roads

(pic taken during the .21 swap) notice my RS4 in the background with a very hopped up .12...

If anyone is every in lexington id love to go racing (with the rcs OR my lightning)

www.racers-edge.com has the .21 kit that you can find for 139$ that uses the stock chassis, all ya gotta buy is motor/header and tuned pipe.

But starting here is a good place

ICULOKN- I installed the robbins racing .21 kit. It fits inside the stock chassis so you dont have to extend it. There are newer and better kits out now, though Ive had no problems with the Robbins set up. The motor sits a little high, but I put 80 wt. oil in the shocks to stiffen things up so I wouldnt roll over as much. It handles great now. All I had to do was bolt the kit together, install a spacer on the .21 driveshaft, and install the throttle linkage. Pretty easy. I can pull wheelies at any speed with just a squeeze of the throttle!! And it will climb anything without losing power and stalling out. Gobbs of power!

Crazyone- Nice pics!!! Wish we all lived closer together, get tired of racing the Lightnings, we could race our other toys!!
